It’s not easy being with an addict. I tried for many years but he kept choosing alcohol. This gives me hope that when he’s ready to change that he finds someone to love him like this. They have to be ready and want it for themselves regardless of who loves them. I just felt this was important to say for women who watch this and are being disrespected by an addict but want to stay at all cost. I don’t like the message that it’s the girl who changed him. She helped him, but he did the work

For me it's the other way around unfortunately. I feel so lucky that ppl around me love me so much and haven't gave up. But I did lose my 5 year relationship to alcohol 😔 and almost lost my current one. It really is hard to deal with an addict. I can admit it when I'm the one addicted to alcohol..it's tough and we do thank you for being there when we have felt unloved even by our own selves

Because like you said, it's not easy to deal with us 😔 but I can almost guarantee you that he loved you, I always tell everyone I promise I do love you and I'm sorry if my actions show different. Sometimes we don't realize until the person is gone and we realize we let addiction beat us AGAIN. It's sad and a wake up call sometimes when ppl no longer want to be around you etc

That’s not the reason why Mike calls her Laurens. It’s a running joke on the show where Mike puts the letter S at the end of things he says(mostly food related), but he also did it with her name, so that’s why everyone calls her Laurens

Having been an alcoholic for 8 years I’m still in recovery I have lapsed but this to me is the best example of how you can turn your life around! I went to rehab in 2018 but I’m now nearly 4 years sober and about to turn 30 Iv found the love of my life and i own my own house when I didn’t have a penny to my name before. Recovery does happen and this makes me so happy to see ❤️👏🏼

There has been other shows but this one Jerset Shores brought it home and you could feel the build up and the feeling that was building the magic and friendship that made this all happen for two people that knew each other for over ten years .
