I learnt the six stroke roll as double double single single

that would actually be a paradiddlediddle (or diddle diddle para in your case). These rudiments look alike but are not the same!

How come the 1 and 6 are being accented instead of 1 and 3. Hope this question makes sense.

Because you typically accent the single strokes, not the double stroke. But that's just a starting point!

Dus het heeft weinig zin om de bijbehorende tutorials in het Nederlands te doen. ;-) Ik neem aan dat je inmiddels mijn serie (beginner)-video's die wél Nederlands gesproken zijn, al gevonden hebt?
