Fairly new here but here is the best way to understand this so far. Watch in order: 1. JG’s video on Angles in standard position 2. JG’s video on Radians and degrees 3. JG’s video on the Unit circle 4. Now you can finally understand this video

@Sky-yy8bg 3 жыл бұрын
Try to draw a line from the vector over any point on the circumference and measure it with an angle ruler. I think that's the only way you'll find out the angle
@Sky-yy8bg
@Sky-yy8bg 3 жыл бұрын
You can also find the angle if the radius has a given value, let's say we have 6cm, and we where given an arc length of 12cm in the circumference... Ø=S/R which Ø=12/6.. then Ø=2rad. Or 2 radians.. 1 radians is equal to 57.3 so 57.3 • 2 will be 114.6°.

lookup the unit circle and it breaks it down for you but it comes from the Pythagorean Identity (cos^2 t+sin^2 t=1). when you break it down and determine what quadrant it falls under you'll know if it's a positive or negative coming out of the square root.

How do you find the 'point' you describe at 0:48?
@emeree
@emeree 5 жыл бұрын
study.com/cimages/multimages/16/imagetrigfunctions9.jpg ^ That's a table describing the value of each trig function when special angles (e.g. 30°, 45°, 60°, etc.) are involved. Mostly you just need to memorize these values, even though it's a pain to recite, but it is helpful. Anyway, in the video you learnt: sinθ = y cosθ = x you know that θ is 30°, so you substitute it into those equations: sin(30°) = x cos(30°) = y then you just consult that table and you get the values of x and y, and hence you know P(x,y) is exactly the value shown in the video. if you want to learn in detail about the reason behind those special values, I recommend this video: www.khanacademy.org/math/algebra2/trig-functions/trig-values-special-angles-alg2/v/solving-triangle-unit-circle Hope this helped! it's been a year since you asked but hopefully this helped other people too :)
