That was not a push off warranted of a foul… every single player creates separation like that on inbounds… hart tried to flop to sell it. Brunson grabbed maxey jersey and then hart fouled maxey on the catch on the way down. As many time as Brunson got foul calls or Embiid got foul calls for minor touches this series and game… that was a foul. Knicks stole one so congrats to them. But let’s not act like what maxey did was egregious or out of the norm.

The refs didn’t stop the Sixers from getting the most important defensive rebound of the game. The refs didn’t stop the Sixers players - the same ones that seem disinterested in rebounding from covering shooters on the three point line. Every single breakdown cannot be blamed on refs.

The league can accept responsibility after the fact. But look at that inbounds play again - no Sixer player is signaling for a timeout. None of the Sixers players standing at the bench are signaling any player in the floor that they want a timeout. Did they know they had a timeout? Why didn’t Maxey cradle the ball in the floor and call a timeout? Convenient blaming doesn’t take place of preparation during your last timeout. The refs didn’t force Lowry to miss a free throw - that’s the difference between a loss and going into OT. The Sixers didn’t box out the opposing center - the refs aren’t responsible for that. The refs didn’t leave two shooters open at the three point line. After Maxey’s blocked lay up there was a rebound to grab. Was there a Embid, Harris, or Batum put back? No, the Knicks got that rebound as well which resulted in two free throws - the difference between a one point game and three point game going into the last shop.

There were so many missed calls for the Knicks in the first half and into the second half. You are running out of excuses and getting ChatGPT to create them for you. There was a Josh Hart drive where the secondary defender raked him across both arms to knock the ball loose, causing the ball to go of his leg, and that was not before the primary grabbed his arm from behind. Then there was Donte's offensive rebound that the Sixers challenged and was overturned. Yet the replay clearly shows Lowry grabbing Donte's shoulder with one hand and then dislodging the ball with the other. This should not have been overturned if they are looking at the replay. Then on that play after the knicks second 3 pointer in the last 30 seconds, Maxey pushes off of Hart to get free. Yes Brunson has his hand on his waist afterwards. Then Max tried to spin around to draw contact and fell to the ground. Instead of holding tight, he tried to pass it and lost it. You can't call time out if your player inbounds the ball and you can't call time out if Maxey loses possession. This was lack of basketball IQ on the player's part. The should have called time out. No one can help them if they are making the wrong plays. Look at their body language. It's like they lost focus or interest in the waning minute of the game. Sixers had their chance to win it too, but Hartenstein made an incredible defensive play at the end. Knicks won with sheer heart and determination. I don't even think Embiid believes they can win. He speaks, but hangs his head and covers his face. He's not the kind of leader that inspires. This is why he's a regular season player and not a playoff player.

As a Knickd fan, we should have definitely lost that game on paper. Our star player was playing sub-par and the Sixers star players were playing as expected, if not, phenomenal. Two major keys made the difference. 1: Everyone else on the Knicks stepped up. Literally everyone. It was a full team effort. 2: Sixers got out hustled. So many players it felt like the Sixers expected calls and fouls to go their way, leaving the Knicks to take advantage by playing till they heard a whistle. Overall, the Sixers should have never been in a situation where the refs calls or non calls should have been a factor. Sprinkle in a fortunate ball bounce off the rim, a tough in bound steal, a timely offensive rebound, and a clutch deep 3... thats the recipe for one of the best / worst playoff games in a Franchises history.

I get it your a fan but you can give dish out some credit. Listen I don't have to like Embid too realize what he is doing on 1 leg is ridiculous. Maxey has balled out as well but that's all you have. The reason the Knicks are winning is because we are not the Brunson show. He is the leader but we have starters from 1 through 8. The Knicks win regardless of Brunson's performance because we are a collective. You never know who is going to get ya. We have more install for ya. You know Brunson going for 40 one of these games OG has been quiet maybe he gets some next time so many weapons on the Knicks we don't know which one to use. 😂😂😂😂😂

Sixers have two all stars who must be on the court together to be effective. Maxey does nothing with Embiid on the bench that’s why he’s wearing down. They need to blow the Knicks out while they’re together because separately Maxey is ordinary. Meanwhile Brunson can play badly and go to the bench and the Knicks thrive. But I forgot Sixers have better team.

Sean, your assessment of Brunson is correct. He is a 1B. NY needs to get a 1A. But until then, Philly better figure out how to get back in this series. Because if the next can figure out how to combat how Philly is stifling Brunson, it's all but over for Philly as the next will win in five. Six, at the most.

Regardless of how we feel about the officiating... the 76ers were not robbed point blank. Missing Free Throws and not fighting for the ball lost this game. And Joel Embiid may be the best player but he continues to show poor body language & attitude year in & year out and I'm getting fed up with it. Everytime something went the Knicks way you can see Embiid throwing his arms in the air while the game was still live. This instance happened a few times and their was one play where if it wasn't for Kyle Lowry staying engaged and getting a rebound the Knicks would have had a easy offensive rebound and a score. Unfortunately this season is probably over. I just don't see how we can win 4 before NY can win 2. That's how I look at it.
