Thanks for doing the Sixsters again, love this band. I will say, as I have said on other reactor sites, because all reactors do this version of Happiness. I understand as this is identified as the official version. I prefer the original one released a year earlier on their YT channel (both a great, don't get me wrong). After the was started, Kate's home where they had their studio was destroyed in the bombing. Most of the girls (6 of the 7) left Ukraine with their families. 5 months later, 5 of those girls met up in Essen for the first time. Within an hour of meeting they had written this song. The next day, they recorded it live in a small studio. That version I prefer because its so raw and emotional. The girks were Kate, Kira P., Maya, Anna and Maria. I really like them. Another young band. I've listened to everything that's available and she is a great singer and she can play more than just a rhythm guitar. She is a good front for the band. The drummer has some acclaim too. She won hit like a girl. They all are talented musicians. I read they made this song after being apart on the run from Putin for 6 months.

Thank you, Jesse, for supporting these incredible young women. You get it. "I'm still alive and it upsets me... I want to escape but I just can't run away. Happiness is foreign." The survivors' guilt, the anger and frustration, the sense of helplessness. This song always gets me. In the video, Kate throws down her sticks in apparent anger and frustration. But then she goes and tends to her wounds, pulls her sleeve across her mouth in resolve, and returns to the fight. It's a message about not giving up, no matter how hard things get. That's why I'm not worried about The Sixsters. They put out beautiful music that pulls people in like a magnet, and it keeps getting better. And they don't give up.

There is an original live video of this right after they composed it. It isn't as well mixed, and I was worried people who haven't heard them before would mistake them for a garage band, so I haven't been requesting that version. But here is a link for those who understand their story and can really appreciate the raw feeling in the song. Maria's last note as she sings "Happiness is foreign, " is basically a primal scream. This by far there most powerful and significant song on so may levelsrefuged . A bit of background to make my case. @ weeks after the invasion started the drummers (katya) home was blown up. they went to stay with family and her dad bought his first car, a van , to run supplys to the war zone and bring back survivors. after the second time his van was attacted he took his wife and 3 girls to germany. this song was created in 1 hour after most of the band had reunited there . everthing on this song was in the moment including those incomplete lyrics. I heard the original raw video of that demo and I love that they chose not to fill in those lyrics and keep it raw. IM STILL ALIVE AND THAT UPSETS ME, How much much more powerfull can it get ? but every singal line of this song is THAT powerfull

They won the Fair Play Anti-Corruption Youth Voices Competition 2024 earlier this year, which was looking for music that speaks out against corruption. I was surprised to see the song picked was "For us... For me..." because it doesn't come across as a song of protest. Until you read the words. A lot the music they've written is the same way, with a darker meaning beneath.

The SiXsters are at the Anti-Corruption Conference in Vilnius Lithuania Now. Lithuanian band Romantic Hooligans are being supported by The SiXsters and two other bands. They are also eating Burgers and IceCream & raising he!! Running up and down the hotel hallways .
