Been on about 7 cruises. Just came home today from carnival mardi gras...big boat. It sucked. Food, entertainment, services etc. And I am not one to complain . Held over 6 thousand people and a nightmare getting off. Complete chaos. Next time I'm going smaller and sticking to royal. Was on harmony last time, big ship as well and didn't disappoint

Agree. We also just went on the MG and it was the same. Kept getting lost too like it wasn’t laid out well. I’ve been on almost all the cruise lines at least a few times. That was not a favorite of mine, but then again Carnival ships big or small always seem to disappoint me.

I've been on 8 cruises and I really enjoyed Mardis Gras. Just goes to show different stokes for different folks. I thought the food was really really good! Pleasantly surprised.

I'm going on my first cruise at 63 years old, an early retirement present from my son who cruises often with his family. The only time I've heard them complain of a cruise was with Carnival! We set sail on Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Sea in July 2024. It's a smaller ship, my son says "just the right size for a 'newbie' and great service". I'm really excited, hope the weather cooperates!😊

I got off of a carnival elation cruise 3 weeks ago to Nassau, Bahamas and princess cays in the Bahamas and when we were at the Nassau port there were 4 other ships there and the Elation looked like a toy boat conspired to those ones. I did not realize how giant these ships can get.

Was on the Elation back in November. We pulled up in Nassau and there was the Mardi Gras. Oh, I said to the person I was with "Oh, we need to go ride the roller coaster. How'd we miss seeing this ride while we were exploring our ship (Elation)? Someone heard us and said "That's the Mardi Gras" We thought the same thing as you. It's a match box car compared to a real car. Lol. We enjoyed the Elation.

Hi! Frequent cruiser here. I have been on both cruise ships seen on this video. If I am being completely honest, the larger the boat the easier to embark and disembark. Especially Royal Caribbean's Oasis Class Ships (the big ship seen here). Have their own terminals, this allows for more organization, more lines, etc. Since covid, Royal has done a wonderful job of adding a lot of embarkation and disembarkation to technology. The smaller ships usually take an hour to get on, whereas the larger takes less than 30. Hope this helps!

I went on Both the Allure of the Seas and Adventure of the Seas. Honestly allure was massive and super fun. Went with my friend group last year we had a blast 10/10 experience. Adventure of the seas was very nice as well for a first time cruise I went during my honeymoon and it was great

@@loraontheroad for example: the older carnival cruise ships are smaller and less taken care of tham their newer and bigger ships. Or like MSC cruise lines older and smaller ships are a bit less maintained and nicer looking and messier than the newer and bigger ships. In general, smaller ships aren't the best and allow access to drunk and nasty people a bit easier than newer bigger ships.

@@LB100-hj7gb sorry, I think we misunderstood each other. I meant ships like the ones part of: Silversea, Hurtigruten, Seabourn expedition cruise ships. I meant mostly expedition ships as: these are usually more expensive and will (more or less) exclude the uncontrollable behavior one usually meets on the larger cruise liners - many kids and many people ON VACATION. I am actually not looking for luxury cruises as safety and peace comes first. Besides I use the ships as a mode of transport - only. I do not fly.

Plus, there's really no reason NOT to. In most cases, if you just want them to book the cruise for you, it probably won't cost anything.
