This is the most concise video I've ever seen from Ben. Maybe the only concise video I've seen from him. Add to that the ease with which he suggests f3 makes me realize this is NOT Ben Finegold! What have you done with Ben Finegold?!

The main line with a4 and Bf5 leads to interesting play, especially after the move Ne5.. Some of these positions require good technique and endgame play. A good aspect of this defense is that both e4 and e3 , instead of a4 are statistically good for black, especially e4, the geller gambit. Against a good attacking player, and at club level a lot of them are not that good attackers and black can win fairly easily, but against a good attacking player you have to make sure you defend your king well after Ng4 and Qh4. If you can survive that without compromising your position too much you will generally win. A very good defense for black!

i used to play this as black but most people play a4 after dxc4 and i did not like that line. i think it is easyer to play as white and hard to play for win as black. now i play semi slav instead of this and i am pretty happy with it 😄

I did the exact opposite,🤣, i hate playing with the light square bishop trapped, so now i play the open slav.

@@nikamumladze8220 by the way, the semi Slav is better, the open slav theory kinda died after Kramnik- Topalov 2006...
