This is the BEST video I have seen in ages. When I graduated Nursing School in 1990- they didn’t teach about this information... and a lot of your information is likely fairly new. I need to watch this again tomorrow (when I am not sleepy) THANK YOU

Nice video - I am really grateful for the nicely animated schematics and the smooth transitions. A mathematical question though: if one circle is taking around 90 minutes, 4 circles would add up to 360 minutes or 6 hours. In the video 7-8 hours were propagated as normal, so wouldn't 5 circles be the standard? Or is it because or REM-phases tend to get longer, while NREM-phases stay the same length?

i’m trying to figure out when my last cycle of sleep would end so when my alarm goes off I don’t interrupt it and instead of fighting myself to not go back to sleep - I just wake up refreshed. which I have experienced both I just don’t know what influences this; I typically go to bed around the same times and try to wake up at the same times. some days are harder than others though. If someone knows how to help with this lmk!! thank you 🙏🏻

Really interesting and easy to understand. Fantastic job. I have a question though. I read somewhere that there are 5 stages of sleep. 4 NREM stages and the rem stage. The source also stated that many people tend to group n3 and n4 into one - the slow-wave sleep (as you did here) What do you have to say about that?
@papihuey
@papihuey Жыл бұрын
I believe the 4 stages in NREM is the old data, now scientists have updated the source. 3 stages of NREM and 1 stage of REM = 4 stages per cycle

If you wake up during n2 and then go back to sleep does it start again from n1 or just go back into n2 ?

I lost my natural ability to get stage 1 sleep because of shift work. Stage 1 sleep for me is ALWAYS disrupted by sleep starts including exploding head syndrome. That didn't happen before the Shift work I did. I no longer do shift work but still can't achieve Stage 1 sleep. Any San Francisco based doctors you can reccomend or sleep medicine I can talk to my Doctor about?

Assalamualaikum I’m Mohamad Aidiq Haizal Bin Mohamad Hazki (1220115) From this video i understand that sleep has 4 stage that is n1,n2,n3, rem. Each level has its own function. If one of the stages is not reached then the sleep cannot be counted as quality sleep. It is also closely related to our brain system which is doing the recovery process during sleep.👌🏻✅
