The segment on self-sabotage really helped me. there is this girl i have been hoping to take to the next step in our relationship with but I have been held back a lot by my overthinking and self-sabotaging. Just hearing you talk about it helped and i will try to act accordingly. thank you bro

This video popped on my homepage, right when I needed it the most. You're absolutely right about the self sabotage. It's time I get back on track and forget about her.

The speed you talk is almost like symetry. It stays the same speed, which is very relaxing. There is also these subtle yet noticable in a good way pauses between words and sentences whjch are perfect. Furthermore, for me you have an accent and its clear like symetry also which is relaxing. Its like playing a piano perfectly u never hit the wrong note not even slightly. Idk how to explain but i love it

Something to think about when it comes to deliberately reinforcing or encouraging negative emotions (sadness, anger, etc.) is that it can sometimes be healthy and helpful. Sometimes you just need to work through your negative emotions and listening to sad music or watching a sad movie or having an angry vent to someone can help you work through what you're feeling, resolve that feeling and then move on. If you're finding that you're not moving on, and that you're continuing to choose these cathartic behaviours over things that might lift your mood, then it can definitely be a more destructive process - thinking you deserve to feel sad or angry or lonely and refusing to let positive things uplift you is definitely self-sabotage. But if you feel like you just need a good cry, or a good vent, there's nothing wrong with indulging yourself so you can move on afterwards - it's much healthier to work through it than to bottle it up

I know the self sabotage. I feel like I could do an epic podcast series, and enjoy it - but I hold myself back. I also say to myself I'm not good at "doing business" but that very thought is, I think, a defense mechanism. Ps. I think sad music ain't bad if it's momentary, particularly if there's self awareness involved. Noticing the feelings and processing those feelings (rather than using the mood of that music to justify the feelings) I think can be helpful. My experience is that sad music can be a way to be empathetic with yourself. If you're listening to "open up" and process emotions, I think it can be great. Also, exercise for feeling well, heck yes.
@RT3632 ай бұрын
You might as well try it, even if you fail it’s kind of a W because then you know it didn’t work out and you can move on. I feel like it’s never really an L if you look at it like that.

for me, i listen to sad music so i’ll cry easier and not suppress my emotions. I come from a french and chilean background. In a typical hispanic fashion, my dad suppresses his emotions. I listen to sad music to express my emotions and know im not him genuinely i think its quite the interesting topic
