Sleepy Jackson came into my world as a 19 year old in 2001. Recently, I can't get this song and Acid In My Heart out of my head; no bad thing. I guess these songs hold more meaning for me now than they ever did. I had the great privilege of seeing them live at The Cockpit in Leeds, and even got the setlist from Luke. There's something about The Sleepy Jackson that always made me want to hear more of them; I've not given up hope that may happen one day. Thank you!!!

2009 ?
@ReconFlowJoe8 жыл бұрын
+Shantel De Matos yeah, its hard to explain... But I like the concept of living in a world where we have technology, but don't have to rely on it. Idk, the 2000's were the last years before smartphones and the takeover of social media. I just when talking face to face was more common than texting. Jah feel?

+ReconFlowJoe *I just miss when...
@shanteldematos47568 жыл бұрын
+ReconFlowJoe I know exactly what you mean, the early 2000's were incredible years.. so much more interactive, and safe... Surely there's a place in the world that is still primitive, and still has the "2009" feel, it needs to be found.
@ReconFlowJoe8 жыл бұрын
+Shantel De Matos it can probably be found with a group of friends, but I doubt theres a place in America that isn't surrounded by this generation's culture. Nothing stays the same, but man do I miss it.

You can tell this is from a different time period just from the atmosphere of the video. Man time has changed in such a short period.

+The Dust Collective the band is from another country, they always look a little older than america because we incite the changes

+Austin Bennett Nowadays everything is pretty worldwide though. Even back when this video was made, I knew this band in the states. I remember the time this video was made, it was a completely different world back then. I'd call this video as being made in the pre-Facebook/social media takeover era.

@micknevermind8 жыл бұрын
Do you know what Andy? Your comment wrecked my night because it reminded me of a song and I couldn't for the life of me think of it, but I'm pretty sure it's ''New Slang'' by The Shins. Hopefully this solves your conundrum for you, I'd hate to think that you have been feeling like I have been for the last two hours, for a bloody week lol.
@andybruce9048 жыл бұрын
YO MICK YOUR THE MAN! I LOVE HUMANITY AND PEOPLE! GOOD TO MEET YOU AND THANKS. Serious skills on that call. but this sounds so familiar I love both, gotta give it to the shins though because they were the original to this sound and New Slang is a all time hit like, Sleepy Jackson's Good Dancers, Mini Skirt, and Come to This. badass that Shins are from a smaller city like Albuquerque I found out. Ima see them when they tour for sure as well as Empire of the sun !
