Great rig tying video Steve, nothing left to guess work, the drawings will help anyone who needs that extra information that most rig videos don't show, everything is explained to a tee. Great rig, great components and a great walkthrough and if you don't already have this rig in your armoury, Get on it. Tight Lines fella. Steve M

I've fished for carp since I was a kid and the amount of rigs I've seen beggars belief ,its just fashion their all quite effective its just what you are confident in using 👍I remember in the carp world mags their would be a 'big fish 'rig lol ,
@stevebriggs46382 жыл бұрын
yes it's all about confidence and what works for you and I don't use many different rigs but I started using the Slip D when I was having a mare with hook pulls and it solved the problem so I've stuck with it.

Yes Steve that rig ticks all the right boxes for me too,reason I like it is that when the fish blows it out it's got a lot of weight and awkwardness with the pivot of the swivel plus the d which combined with the snow presentation of the boilies is perfect for hooking the fish in the bottom of the mouth!!! I also have 99% hook holds with this rig to,I just use a slightly bigger book though! Great minds think a like Steve lol✊thanks Danboy

I usually knife off a little bit of the bottom bait or popup (when not being a corkball) if the hair is too short or just use bait floss.
@jimwocha4949 Жыл бұрын
Good rig Steve which I use myself. One question. Why not use it as a slip d multi? It has two advantages over the standard.slip d. 1, you can change hooks quickly and keep the same boom for a long time. Two you can adjust the length of the d depending on what baits you want to use. I see basically the same components as you but just tie a 3.5cm loop in the stripped section and then attach the hook ring swivel and the hook multi rig style and secure it with the tungsten kicker. You can even make up baits already attached to hook ring swivels and then just loop them on as needed. Just a thought to make things even more efficient and simple. I can't see an advantage of securing the d with a knotless knot.
@stevebriggs4638 Жыл бұрын
Yes we actually did a Nash podcast on rigs and talked about this. Alfie Willingale uses the Slip D multi style and I thought that it would be the ideal version too but I tried it and just didn't like the way it worked, for me it just wasn't quite as good as tied knotless knot style. I'm all for making things easier but I have to believe I'm using the best version for me.
@jimwocha4949 Жыл бұрын
@@stevebriggs4638 thanks for the reply Steve. At the end of the day we have to use what we are confident in..you have caught more big fish than I will ever catch so your version obviously works for you. I can't say I have tried the two versions side by side. I'm interested to hear why you prefer the original version over the slip d multi?

Great vid! Can you tell me is this rig a bottom bait rig or could you use a wafted or a pop up? Thanks
@stevebriggs46382 жыл бұрын
yes theoretically you can use it for any of those baits, I don't personally use it for pop ups as I prefer a hinge rig for that but I've used it for bottom baits, snowman's and wafters with success - and I've no doubt it would catch with pop ups too.

Why an earth wouldn’t you just put the baits on to the swivel with floss?? It’s so quick and easy, also very effective. Please don’t think I’m being rude as I’m not - I just don’t get the extra work … the reason I ask is that I actually had my on of 68lb on double plastic corn pulled down so the small end of the swivel was just tucked into the corn and then just trim off the floss and blob it down 👌🏼

get rid of the hook ring swivels the 360 bait screws with a swivel built in to the bait screw best thing ever and why do you use putty when nash tungsten beads are the best out there so many to choose from no need for putty no more

It's purely the version I find best I prefer the hook ring swivels over the bait screws especially for the snowman set up and I find the putty heavier and easier to use.
