Great song about cycle of revenge/desires for revenge/hatred. The voodoo doll is the victim, the puppeteer is the attacker. The voodoo doll (victim) never forgets the pain that was inflicted upon it and can become the new puppeteer and therefore will create more voodoo dolls (to bring the pain that was once inflicted to the next one). And in an ironic twist, every puppeteer, depending on how he/she sees themselves, is also a voodoo doll because you cannot become a puppeteer without having been a doll, or otherwise some similar idea :) That if you see yourself as the bringer of pain, you can also see that you yourself are a doll who had been hurt. This is why in the end the lyrics say that when you look into the mirror you will see either a puppeteer or a voodoo doll. Alternatively, you can view this as what goes around comes around. Great concept :)

I would suggest the book: the trouble of being born by Emil It covers this concept to a. Degree of when a victim is made they enjoy becoming one or they hate it, if one enjoys being victimized such as being birthed into such a world something enacted upon them, then they can either hate or become happy victims- invincible victims, invincible dolls so to speak. This can go with the book: the temptation to exist, by the same person
