What is the point in the ban? Wouldn't spreading a cow byproduct be better than artificial fertilizer? What happens to the slurry during the ban? Thanks from New Zealand

the point of the ban is actually to minimize the amount of nitrogen going into nearby rivers and ditches, wich is just a waste of nitrogen but also increases algae growth. The plants are in like a sleeping stage when it's frozen in the ground so if you would go out and dump a couple of tonnes slurry, nothing would have happened anyways.
