My mom was thrilled when I found this recording for her that she loved to listen to with her seven siblings as children. She just turned 90.❤

I can supply the name of the actor who played the boy. It was me. I did a great many radio shows and a few records, but this was the only time I had the opportunity to work with Bing Crosby --Jerry Farber

This left its mark on me as a child. I find all donkeys I encounter so endearing. I'm 77.

I'm 72.Judt came across audio of The Happy Prince and listened to it Cried my eyes out then thought I wonder if I could find The Small One.I had them back to back on a 78 when I was little.Unfortunstely as records did in those days, it got broken.I was gutted. Now I can enjoy them all over again.Just listened to The Small One and balled my eyes out.

The same winter sun that dances on the northern snow sprawls indolently at ease...Back in 1947, no one was afraid to be literate with children (or anyone else).

Takes me back to my childhood, I remember listening to this on the record player, I have no idea what has happened to the record, we moved several times for promotions in my dads job, it's obviously got lost at some time, I have to thank my older sisters for finding this recording of it for me 😘

I just searched for this and found it here. I have the original 78 records and folder like pictured here. Unfortunately all of the old records have cracked with time. Glad I found it to listen to it one more time.

A childhood favorite. We had the 45-sized version, although it may have played at 33. Whenever my brothers or I would get our backs up about something, my father was fond of responding with "All right my boy, if you insist!"

I’ve always found Joseph’s voice so soothing, I believe it was Bill Johnstone and Bing’s voice on the reading of the last passage particularly moving.
