I have to admit I wasn't aware of painted surfaces damaging the blades, its not something i've done yet as i'm still very much the newbie, but thanks to you i'll now make sure I don't. I think no matter how old you are, there is always something new to learn, and dropping the odd B, er mistake now and then is all part of the learning process, even if it can be a costly one...whats that's saying, 'The only man who never makes mistakes, is the man who never does anything'.

At the moment it's only something I saw on a Facebook post, so it's quite likely to be wrong! All I can say is that I've been using it for months with hardwoods without problem, but I planed up some posts from an Ikea bed and the centre area went dull.

@@thesmallshed to be fair, with things like that I think i'd rather trust your instincts than put my faith in coincidence....lol

For cleaning up dust-on-everything I've always used a compressor-airline or a (cheap Screwfix/Wickes) vaccum on blow. Respirator, eye-protector, ear-muffs on, and windows open. Once you've gone round four or five times, getting no more visible dust in the air, most of what needs cleaned off is on the floor. Works if not to many things that get blown over by the air blast. Then suction vaccuuming for finer cleaning, as you need to use a particular device. Useful to know that changing the Titan blades is not too difficult, if done methodically.

Yes, the airline is the last piece of the jigsaw in the shed, I really need to get it sorted, for dusting down, and for a pin nailer.

ever had issues with the planer adjustable bed. mine has alot of free play in it and I can never get a square 90 degree cut.

The bed is a bit wobbly at times, though I tend to leave it set on about half a millimetre. The thicknesser gets far more use. I also found the bed to be out of line when I got it.

Peter have you altered the the safety micro switch’s as you had no hood on
@thesmallshed4 жыл бұрын
I might have🙂🙂🙂, not to be condoned, but it's such a pain to fit, particularly with the 4" pipe. I find the bed blade cover keeps most of the debris below the deck level. However the amount of dust that was generated this time has made me rethink the situation so I'm looking to make the hood fit more easily. Having said that I'm eyeing up the larger Sheppach with a 250mm bed, but it looks like a long wait 'till they are likely to be available.
