This is a 3/4 ton truck 5th wheel at minimum. Don’t let this guy convince you to tow this rig with a half ton. He brings up a generator and the possibility of towing an ATV or anything with a hitch. Ridiculous! Think cargo capacity. Half ton’s are not capable of towing this rig when loaded up with people, supplies and a 5th wheel hitch. This gets people hurt.

@@iLykeCahrs safe towing is not about how much a truck can pull. It's how much it can bring to a stop. One other thing to keep mind is well a truck holds a camper to the road. A half ton truck simply does not have the weight required to keep it "glued" to the road.

We have an even smaller Jayco 5th wheel!! It's 22 years old, a 2000 model and 26 ft. long. No slide-outs or bells and whistles, but we love it! Been living in her for almost 5 years full-time. Jayco makes a good quality RV. We've been very happy with how well it's made and still going strong! We've made several cosmetic upgrades and plans to do more, but the bones of this RV are solid! Would LOVE that pantry though!! 😳😍 Great tour!

Nice floorplan. Kudos to Stacy and her design skills! ...especially with the backsplash & the deep blue cabinet in the bathroom! Nice to see the TV is lower so you don't feel like you're in the 'front row'. Glad Jayco put in a decent sized oven rather than the useless 17incher. Some solar would have been nice but that is easily remedied. If theater seats are an option, that's the way I would go. Overall, a great smaller 5er! Would be perfect for me and my dog! Great review!

I love this model! We had our beautiful 2007 Jayco G2 Jayflight 31BHDS stolen almost 2 years ago. We ended up spending the insurance money on a used Arctic Fox, but the Jayco was a much nicer layout with tons more space. If I had my druthers...this is what I would get.

I liked your style for showing off this 5th Wheel. I have two concerns in regards to this particular model. #1. If this floor plan could be flipped then I would prefer it much more. Most campers want their windows on the camping side of the RV. #2 Not enough storage for clothes in bedroom even if a washer/dryer combo has not been installed. With that said, LOVE that pantry. It’s innovative and it’s fun to see new ideas. That pantry definitely makes up for little storage in kitchen. If it was me, I would prefer recliners rather than the couch. Guests? Air mattress on the floor.

Yea a slide in the bedroom with just a dresser would be beneficial granted that's gonna add a bit if pin weight and my exclude it from being half ton towable. That said I personally really thing a 5th wheel should be a 3/4 ton an up trailer especially with the super short beds and wheel bases of these newer 1/2 tons.

Sorry, we had a Nomad 24ft fiver that was made long ago. Great little trailer. And it could be towed by SOME 1/2T trucks. Our 2006 2wd Tundra did well with it and was within factory weight specs. The 4wd did not have the capacity for it. We traded it on a new Jayco 35ft (at that time we had a Dodge diesel). Sometimes I wish we had kept the little Nomad. Before you buy check carefully. RV quality is still not great until you get into the custom stuff.

Actually there are three Keystone Cougars under 29 feet with the 25RES Cougar being the closest to this Jayco. There are others but they are not as roomy as the Jayco and Cougar. Jayco used to have a 25REOK that was nicer but they stopped making it! We are in our seventies and a small unit like our Cougar or this Jayco is actually perfect for us! Not crazy about the backsplash, seems pretty busy. Like the blue in the bathroom and the counter space in the bathroom is fantastic! They should have kept the slide in the bedroom from the 25REOK as it gave you much more storage closet wise.

It looks like Jayco has really stepped-up their game. 7 years ago when we were looking for a travel trailer, the Jayco trailers looked really cheaply made. I was not impressed in any way. Had I to do it over again, I would probably get this 5th wheel. This unit looks downright impressive.

Remember, Jayco is no longer REALLY Jayco. It was bought out by Thor in 2018, and they build lots of "brands" so don't expect the quality of the old Jaycos. We have owned 2 new Jayco 5th wheels, bought both at this dealership. First was a 2013 Jayco Pinnacle, top of the line which we really couldn't use because the leveling system rarely worked. We replaced multiple legs and control boards and still no improvement. When the 2 year warranty was up we traded it for an Eagle Premier. Only minor problems on leveling system on this one but we did have trouble with the large kitchen slide out which was a Schwintek slige that ran on tracks. We had major repair done on it twice in 4 years. Last repair we were stuck in Michigan's upper peninsula (we live in Texas) and slide wouldn't come in. There was a small RV repair shop just down the road in Kinross and they didn't know how to fix these slides so they researched for 3 days and finally took motor for slide out of the wall and disabled slide on rear and pushed it in. It cost us $665 out of pocket to bring in slide. Took RV to dealership and they said they didn't have facilities to fix it. My husband finally thought of calling Lippert in Goshen, Indiana who had bought Schwintek. We made a wild trip from Northern Michigan to Goshen on a Friday to get there before closing. We made it and they fixed it but said the slide was way too heavy for the Schwintek mechanism and faulted the manufacturer (Jayco) they had to rebuild the inside walls on RV with heavier bracing besides replacing motor and welding up broken braces under RV. Both RVs were so called "top of the Line" at the time and were about $65,000 apiece. We ended up selling the Eagle Premier as soon as we got home through PPL motorhomes for $33,000. Thank goodness that was enough to pay it off and have a little left over to buy a used RV outright. We now own a 2006 Jayco Designer we bought from its second owner. It works every time. I would definitely advise you to NOT buy ANY RV with a Schwintek slide and make sure you have Lippert leveling system. Also the 2015 Eagle had 2 air conditioners that ran constantly in over 100 degree days in Utah and the coolest it got inside was about 91 degrees! I SAY BUY A USED, OLDER RV IN GOOD SHAPE FROM A PRIVATE SELLER. It takes some looking but definitely worth it.

I really like this RV except for the sofa. That thing looks supremely uncomfortable. How about a pair of side by side recliners? Is that possible? Very appealing but way out of my price range on a retirement budget. Also would want a 3-way fridge. I boondock almost exclusively and for long periods so I don’t want to be draining the batteries just for the fridge. I would pull out that shelf in the closet to make it function better as a straight closet & let me hang dresses & other longer things without them dragging. Do like that big pantry but might find myself loading too much weight in the rig.

It’s $80K. My little 20 foot 2016 Kodiak travel trailer only cost $16K brand new. It would be nice to have a slide out for a little more space and some place to sit besides the dinette but I’m outside most of the time anyway so I make it work. And my Nissan Frontier pulls it just fine. I don’t set speed records but I wouldn’t anyway when towing.

It’s small, but can’t be towed by most half ton trucks. The pin weight is going to be the limiting factor. Fully loaded you’ll be well into 3/4 ton territory.

So True, my 3/4 ton has payload of 2,069lbs, my 8,000lb empty 5th has pin weight of 1,700lbs, same as above trailer, add wife & I @ 350lbs = 2,075lbs & we're over, still have to add weight of pin box, propane, battery's, etc. It's almost criminal what these people claim is 1/2 ton towable!!

Great presentation and if I could afford the $60 k it would be awesome to have. I do think calling any of these 1/2 ton towable is a stretch even for the newer trucks. My 08 F150 may make it move and stop with the trailer brakes but is not heavy enough. GVW would be exceeded.

Yeah, the ~1,800 pound pin weight once loaded with water, pans, clothes, etc. is going to exceed the rear axle weight rating of pretty much every 1/2 ton except the F150 HDPP which are super rare. A stripped max trailering F150 might just squeak under its limits but you'd have zero margin. I'm pretty sure an NHT Chevy/GMC would be well overloaded (heavier bed) and the RAM 1500 has even less available RAWR.

I really like this 5th wheel. Pantry is super and I can imagine all sorts of different items to put in there. I love the backsplash. Perfect design. I also like the blue cabinet in the bathroom. That color would also be great in the kitchen. My only complaint is you continue to speak about this being towed by a quarter ton pickup. I think you would be lucky if you could tow this with a half-ton. You would definitely be at max weight, more like over. 10,000 is a lot of weight.
