To everyone that watch the video first off thank you very much second of all I wanted to just go ahead and clarify that I am no expert when it comes to strapping things down. Really what I should have done is requested 4 straps because it seems that the way these work when it comes to strapping stuff down front and back is you need to have 4 for both front and back. Or at least demonstrated that in the video. But then again I have my weak points, so I didn't do it that way. I want to thank a few commenters for making me aware of that remember I'm a Turf guy 🤣. Those seem like great straps! I've got the traditional cheap orange straps, not a big fan of those, don't use them very often. Hope the mowing business is doing well this year!

Suggestion, look into and get yourself a Yankem rope and keep it on the truck. Also suggest you get the real thing and not an Amazon wanna be kinetic rope.

How well does the spring retraction assembly stand up to being outside in rain and weather and dew? They have a similar thing for boat trailers, was always wondering how the retractor stands up to water. You should be using four straps. Strap should not touch metal only end hooks. Having an open trailer would help with access. My employee goes on one side of trailer and me on the other and we each do one end of strap. Makes it easier. We hate the regular strap tails. These don’t have that which is cool. My biggest beef is actually standard 2 inch wide 3000 pound straps are so long. Would love shorter straps in the 4-6 foot range and some in the 2 foot length range.

@@JakeTheLawnKid…. I agree with @ Lost in Iowa. I believe those straps are meant to be secured to the trailer. Spencer’s Lawn Care has a video on them and that’s how they use them, secured to the trailer.

@@-What-are-your-thoughts I think it goes both ways I have to take a look at their website you can either have the hook screwed into the trailer or floating like I did with the two hooks holding it in place.

Park the mower where you want it in trailer. Screw 2 pieces of 2x4 to the floor in front and back of drive wheels. This keeps machine in place. Forget the straps just drive over the 2x4’s. I did that for years with no problems.

Not a bad idea, but I find straps to work better in a single axle which is susceptible to bumps.

@@JakeTheLawnKid my trailer was single axle too. Never a problem. And I live in RI that has the worst roads in the country. Just a thought for you.

@@JakeTheLawnKid I hear ya. I was on and off my machine so much it just took too much time to strap down between cuts. I used to do 15 lawns a day by myself. Enjoy your youth before it catches up with you like me lol.

Really you tied the front down with a bungee cord. It was probably the worst example of strapping equipment down I’ve ever seen. You should have four of those straps one to each corner of the machine.

Hey man I understand. I'm no expert on straps and I agree with you it's actually what I said in the video. I really think I should have gotten four 100%. However I have been able to get away with just using two sometimes none at all. Also, Let's consider this the start of a learning curve for me. My expertise is in Turf and I'm looking to learn beyond that every single day, straps being one of them when it comes to my equipment. In the end your input is much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
