Great review! The only thing I'm concerned about is the amount of gain it provides. Will the Evo be able to provide enough gain for a dynamic mic like sm57 even while using the smart gain feature?

Problem solved 😇 Don't get confused with the faders, So Evo Mixer has output 1+2 (Master mix) down the fader of Mac 3+4 and Output 3+4(Artist mix) down the fader of Mac 1+2 then we'll have separate instrument out using EVO. Thank God 🙏🎶

At 4:22 onward the product closeup shows very poor build quality. The top panel attached to the bottom box does not have a smooth finish. It has many jagged edges. Anyone else notice?

Sadly the build quality of the evo isn't any good. I own one and I thought of returning the product the very moment I received it but I liked audio quality and converters a lot and also didn't had the time to return and order an alternative so I kept it. But yeah the build quality and finishing is pretty bad. The top panel even comes out if you force it just a little bit

agreed, build is plastic, wish it was metal but can’t say it’s fragile either, unless the use is going to be really rough and there are possibilities of it falling down from a height multiple times(which normally isn’t the case we tend to keep audio interface unmoved from its place), it shouldn’t be a problem, but yes that should be a factor along with the ones mentioned in the video, and see which interface ticks most boxes against your requirements.

depends on which DAW you are using, go for novation if you are a ableton user, I use arturia keylab mk2, great build quality and comes with v-collection bundle which is my favorite collection of soft synths.

@@krutarthdavda8652 I'm not talking about essentials, it's not same as keylab mkii, so ultimately it depends on what you'll be using it for. I just checked out m-audio oxygen pro, looks promising, but I would have still gone with Keylab for 3 reasons. 1 - Integration with analog lab. 2 - V collection comes free with it, which alone is totally worth it for me as I'm really into into analog synthesizer sounds now, m-audio comes with it's own set of virtual instruments which may be good for some, not for me, especially if you want to control those virtual instruments directly from keyboard other than just playing keys I'm not sure how good that integration is with m-audio when you compare to novation launchkey + ableton compatibility, NI komplete control's integration with it's plugins, and arturia's integration with analog lab and v collection, here you just plug the keyboard and get full control over those virtual synths straightaway without the need of manually doing the midi mapping every time. It may or may not be a big deal for someone, for me it is. 3 - Keylab comes with cv output which is useful if you're going to build hardware synthesizers based setup, otherwise it's useless and might be unnecessary expense, I'm already invested in hardware synths so for me it's useful. That's why I say your end goal matters, there's no clear winner otherwise, there are many functions on oxygen pro which are unique, I'm sure you have a good reason to buy it, go for it!
