Does the sleep wake alarm on the new fitbits differentiate between rem and light sleep stages when determining when to wake you up? They say it wakes you up while not in deep sleep but doesn't say if it avoids rem sleep.

I had smart alarm on my MiBand 1s and it was astonishingly good. I never felt so pleased waking up. Unfortunately newer MiBands don’t ship this feature. Hope Apple implement it one day so I could buy Apple Watch

I got my first Fitbit in December and also love the smart alarm. It's now in competition with my Philips light alarm. I'm curious to see a compariston between the two!
@Medicalfuturist4 жыл бұрын
How do you use both at the same time?
@christinetaylor12654 жыл бұрын
@@Medicalfuturist I don't, actually. I've used one or the other kind of randomly since getting the watch. It took me a few weeks to trust the watch for a morning. But have to admit that I like the subtlety of the watch and that it doesn't disturb anyone else in the room. I suppose the best thing to do would be to try each exclusively for a week or two and report back!

When I sleep at 11:30PM, I wake up natural at 6AM with full energy but because I have to start the day later I continue sleeping until 7:30 but then I find myself waking up in a deep sleep feeling tired. Does the smart alarm also work in this case if I want to continue sleeping?
@Medicalfuturist Жыл бұрын
I think you feel more energy then because you wake up from light sleep. If that's the case, the smart sleep alarm is designed for exactly that reason.

NK cells production system can adopt new sleeping habbists, meaning if u always sleep 5-6 hours body biochemistry can speed up NK cells produktion. But yes if u have constant 7-8h of sleeping then one night with 4 hours of sleeping can show significant drop of NK cells production.That how body goes. And I'm also not saying 4-6h of sleeping is a healthy habbit. Human is not a robot ! :D

Hello, Very interested in this video. I see in a recent comment you mentioned you now use a Withings Scanwatch. I am thinking of getting one, but concerned but the number of reviews on reddit complaining the smart sleep alarm doesn't work (just goes off at the start of the time range regardless of their sleep stage). Is your experience that it works better than that?
@Medicalfuturist Жыл бұрын
It does go off in the first minute if you are already in light sleep. But if not, it goes off at a better time. If you are not in ligth sleep at all during that interval, it will go off at the very end.

Hi , i want to ask you something. How good is the fitbit ionic in tracking sleep? Did you make some comparison with other sleep tracker? I know sleep tracking is not his principal function so i was wondering if it's worth buying this smartwatch only for this feature. I ,too, consider smart alarm as the most important function for a sleep tracker , so i'm surprised that any company cares about it. Anyway congratulations for your channel , I will continue to follow

Thank you! Its sleep tracking is ok (doesn't stand out for sure) but the smart sleep alarm is perfect and that's the feature that really matters.

The Medical Futurist I am looking for a watch specifically for smart alarm. The ionic i find is very expensive considering I would like to have another watch specifically for running etc..., where watches like Garmin and so standout. Have you got any experience or know if experience with other watches? I don’t mind buying a watch specifically for sleep, however cost is still a factor. Thank you and fantastic videoxzz

@@oliscurra Did you buy a watch just to use the smart alarm? I already have a mi band 3 but I'm not finding an easy way to use the smart alarm (it seem that one way is to buy sleep as android and notify and fitness but I'm not sure)
@oliscurra4 жыл бұрын
@@kipora I did. Sleep is extremely important for me. I also recently bought an apple watch series 6. I use the apple watch as my standard smart watch all day and I use the fitbit exclusively for my sleep tracking and more important smart alarm functionalities. I've been wearing the fitbit and the series 6 to bed a few nights together and the charge 4 is simply more advanced of a device for the sleep tracking and waking functionality.

What if you sleep early and wake up whenever you wake up? No alarms
@bourbongod78893 жыл бұрын
That’s great but oddly specific. I use it because of the early time i choose to wake up (5-6), others might use it because they need to wake up at an exact time for work, say 7 or 8. In both cases, “sleep early and wake up whenever you wake up” is not applied. We get the app to wake up, not to sleep in and wake up whenever we want.
