Leos have poor depth perception, which means that through their eyes everything is basically flat. If you use a loose substrate, even though the ground would be uneven, it would look perfectly flat to your gecko. This is also why many peoples geckos walk off tables. It isnt because they are dumb, it is just because they cant see that there is a drop there, or that through their eyes the drop seemed small enough to jump.

we had a full grown iguana for a while, my parents impulse got him, kept him in a 40 tank, which is not good. they only got him out once and my dad got clawed and tail whipped. they eventually gave him to a sanctuary, thankfully.

While leos are bad for this, arboreal geckos are worse. Especially cresteds. The thing is they like to jump and they are often apparently completely unconcerned about where they will land or if there is a place to land at all.

i agree with the leopard geckos, my gecko just stares at anything and anyone who walks into the room. he is constantly confused and no matter how often he sees me refill his water bowl he's always so fascinated by it.

I am in a leopard gecko group and someone had a bandage on her nose. Her leopard gecko didn't recognize her and gave all the tail warnings and kept a distance. Lol

I texted my girlfriend "I'm gonna have to get used to this guy b/c compared to my slug(what we jokingly call my leopard gecko Luna) this guy is an escape ninja!!" lol
