Some of Jimmy's best drumming. I met him by chance. Just a typical day of work as a painter. When we got to the job I just started working as usual. We were painting his kitchen and his wife said something about my husband is on a fishing trip. Well, on the second day of work Jimmy came home. Didn't recognize him at all(Shame). We just started talking about his fishing trip because I am an addicted fisherman too. After a while I asked him about the guitar in the corner of his living room. He replied "yeah I mess around with it a little bit but I'm a drummer by trade". " I just said okay nice, are you're a teacher at a drum clinic or maybe a college ? He was very humble and replied..." I'm actually the drummer for The Smashing Pumpkins". Obviously I was in shock, and kind of embarrassed that I didn't recognize him because I love the Smashing Pumpkins when I was growing up in the '80s. Long story short. he was such a genuine person. Also, the pictures he showed me of the smallmouth he caught in Montana were incredible. Overall it was an incredible experience thanks Jimmy !!!! Sorry I didn't ask you for your autograph, I was too much in awe ✌️

Ive also met jimmy on a few occasions, once while seeing his jazz band play at a small bar in chicago called the green mill i was waiting in line for the mens room and happened to be standing next to his place onstage (its an awkwardly cramped place) and we got to talking about my appreciation for him and without prompting he stood up and gave me a hug.... i also met him at a restaurant where i was his server. The perks of being a chicagoan? But he was supremely humble and down to earth and he remains a hero of mine both musically and as a person.

Jimmy Chamberlin is a modern marvel. First, he's an incredible drummer. One of the best drummers working today in rock and roll. Period. He has Bonham chops and a jazz man's sense of flow and dynamics. He also has a brilliant business mind when it comes to tech and social media marketing. He's also well-known as just a hell of a good guy. His story about the trappings of fame, drugs, addiction and, ultimately, redemption is also inspirational. I've saw him perform with the Pumpkins on the same night as I saw Chris Sharrock play with Noel Gallaher (I refuse to call the "High Flying Birds" a band, because it's a Noel solo project with incredible backing musicians, including the amazing Mike Rowe, Gem Archer and Chris). It was the most spectacular drumming tour de force I have ever witnessed in a single night. If you don't know Chris Sharrock's work, check it out. He's brilliant, and Neil Peart, the late drummer for Rush, even name checked him as an influence during Chris's Icicle Works days.

I'm not entirely sure what the hell is going on, but I think I can provide some insight into a couple of things. Notice what Billy's wearing. His black sweater and silver skirt are reminiscent of the black zero shirt and silver pants he wore back in the Mellon Collie days. However, instead of the word "Zero", the word has become the number and it is hanging around his neck like a dog's collar. The three girls leading him around with the chain seem to symbolize how he is held down to that image. When he tries to break free of it, it's like him trying to break free of the past and find new creative ground. He walks around outside and sees people that might as well be faux Pumpkins fans looking at him wondering "what is he doing outside of where we expected him to be"? Ultimately, despite him being free, he ultimately finds himself back where he started, imprisoned by the past, and it is a never ending cycle. Still trying to figure out what those wrestlers are and the guy spitting blood. Maybe a commentary on how musical corporatism has dictated Corgan's path and he wants to break free of that?

The Sleep Addict Well most of the people here agree. The majority knows this is just more uncreativity. Sadly billy isn't as creative as he was in his youth because in the video he shows he feels opressed by some of the fanbase when making new music. That doesn't mean try to do something you've already done so people will see you and your work in a new light. His message is clear but it doesn't take a boring song to deliver that message when you've already adressed the issue in the past. Go look at other comments you'll see more people who are disappointed after being a fan for years. Seeing james iha there makes one wonder why he is even there when the music is not refined like the musicians are now trying to make "fresh" music. Makes one suppose maybe they are ready to revitalize the pumpkins together like billy did in 2007 but apparently james lacks the ability to bring something unique to the table as he always has. I guess people who are slaves the radio just enjoy anything with a name on it, like i said. Don't be so sensitive to my opinion everyone has one and yours isn't correct as much as mine isn't. However i can see the music for what it is and others can't. That's just how it is. There will always be differing opinions and those who cannot handle other's opinions whatsoever, you being one of those people. Go on and try to be some social justifier and preach what you think is right like the hero you are but i will continue to see this song for what it is and believe what i want. Some other lesser known band could have made the exact same thing and no one would even know it existed unless they were told of it's existence or already aware. What i hear and what others hear is exactly the same. Other's however don't have the same mindset when coming into the song as you or i do.

Symbolic analysis has several phases, remember there is symbolic analysis, psychological and many and many others, it's free for interpretation, personal and can be whatever you want, if this clip does not make any sense to you then it's not. Be happy with all chewed stuff you get. Thanks to Giuliano Camiolo and Max Derrat for your good insights. Let's start! The beggining is like Ava Adore with differente position with no confidence and lost. Clothes like Bullet with Butterfly Wings. Colar in the Neck (Number ZERO). Drone in a Cage (Rat wanting to evolve but still in a cage). Dream picture (Like a Meme) Don´t be afraid of the space between your dreams and reality. If you can dream it, you can make it so. Darc'y, Cortney and Ginger come (Inspirational muses, can be Melissa why not, who give him serum to forget the problem's of the past). Serum - Trauma - Vape Juice - XXX-TREME ( Fighting his traumas of the past to create something new ) White Strong Jason (Fear) Fountain with water and four places (Original Band) with pure inspiration. Butler spitting blood (Who should be serving is taking away the purity of the band). James Iha (Problem of the Past) Washing his hands in the fountain of blood. It is not part of the server's criticism and won't do now. Jeff and Jimmy playing old game (Wasting Time) Floor and Table (Like Clockwork Orange It´s important after that) Jeff's jacket shows that chain is loose, that he can do whatever he wants. Behind in the jacket is the hand of glory (Having the power to open any lock in the vicinity is a atribute to the hand) coincidence he find the chain loose and walk out the door, I do not think so. Inspirational muse with the drone flying over is still attached to it (showing that it is not yet fully released). Mimic Room with Guns: Mimics pretend that this is real and important and pretend to protect the invisible baby. Invisible baby (Pretending to create something new but nothing, just pretense for the new public that is represented with gothic clown painting) Painting in the room seems like the old clip for ZERO e Tonight. Room with Glowing Lights: New artists (Same House with Glowing Lights "Opportunity: You never know whats on the other side") Remember the milk: The Korova Milk Bar (korova is Russian for "cow") appears in the novel and film A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess. It is a twisted version of a milk bar which serves milk laced with drugs ("moloko plus"). The protagonist and narrator Alex lists some of the fictitious ingredients one can request: vellocet (Russian for amphetamines), synthemesc (synthetic mescalines), drencrom (adrenochrome). For the ingredient drencrom, he uses the phrase (drink the milk) "with knives in it," as it "would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence". By serving milk instead of alcohol, the bar is able to serve minors. Taking sunshine from artificial light (Not the real inspiration) Dancer and ballerinas of toys (New toys for the young also serves for the drone). KKK with black clothes in the car (Represents fear in the new clothes) He faces you to be afraid to leave out) Old lady watering the plant while strong man is trying to cut with a sword the ends of the branch (The old trying to care and the new trying to destroy something real. Fat old man in the pool, it could be Billy if he did not do anything now, and girl with dark mascara and gothic dolls. Ever watched Silence of the Lambs? Make your analysis. Girl in bambole and man with blood splashes smiling. Ever watched American Pyscho? Make your analysis. Barbecue with fish and milk. (Today's people like to show themselves that they are so scary and like heavy and dense things, the fashion nowadays is to show that you go through many problems. Fish = Christianity (Also a symbolic religion) Finding the house and finds it's the same place. How to escape the limitations of your own mind if the outside world seems so meaningless and does not seem to want to make room for someone new.

I was never much of a SP fan back in the day, but Wow!, this song is so good - I love the main hook. I just listened to this and the other new track "Silvery Sometimes". I really like them both, would happily buy a new album if one is coming out with these two tracks on it.

I hope they still haven't shown the best song of the album. I mean these two songs are good but I don't think they are as good as 1979.

It's so cool. It actually feels like a video from 1995 showing Billy Corgan characterized as an old version of himself. Done by some Beck video director.
