Yes! I'm still suprised at how deeply I feel their music after many years. I started listening to them when I was 12 or 13 (older brother listened to them and therefore so would I and ended up liking them), now I'm almost 30 and there's still new layers and feelings that come to me, because with new experiences and years it still changes how I interpret their songs, so it never gets old, I'll hopefully get to live many years more so I can experience even more with their music :3

@@MrAngryTwinkie it's true, and that is one of the factors that has helped them age well compared to a few of their contemporizes who have done the same album over again, only to have faded away years ago. even Billy's solo stuff wasn't considered the best of his work at the time, but now those albums are considered both underrated and integral as part of his growth as a musician which has reinforced the power of SP as his strongest outlet.

I feel this is why every album from the original 91-00 run seems under-rated except for SD wich is correctly hailed almost universally as a masterpiece. Jonas Akerlund directed this video and all the Try, Try, Try Film (and music video). He eventually directed the film “Spun” as his first film directorial debut. It stars Brittany Murphy, Mickey Rourke, Jason Schwartzman, John Leguizamo & Mena Suvari (and more). The film is a darkly comedic and totally believable glance into the world of methamphetamine addicts… for about a week… Various characters storylines are believable. It’s a great film, and not as depressing as Requiem for a Dream, or some other drug films. Spun has a comedic tone at times

@@alukuhito You are right, my funny comment wasn't complete. Because this is very important for everyone's life, let me briefly explain my thought. I remember when that record came out (because I didn't hear the record before my brother bouth it and played it in his getho blaster): 1- the return of Jimmy (You can easily differentiate Jimmy Chamberlin's unique drumming style vs for instance that Aronoff guy) 2- Melissa Auf der Maur joining the band when that record came out (she's from Montréal, plays very well, has a very beautiful voice and after her time with the Smashing Pumpkins her carreer simply expanded and did awesome collaborations ) 3- suspensions dots meaning there is a succession of other events related to the moment that record came out (At that moment in my life I was starting to develop a taste in music and SP became a band I couldn't stop listening to. I had my first sexual experiences approximately during these times. Moved to another city, changed school. Etc)

That’s a combination of chorus and de tune. The chorus makes several copies of what’s played, and some of those guitar “copies” (they’re really called voices” are raised and lowered slightly out of perfect pitch. The end result is that lush, full and shimmering sound.

I saw them on this tour and they totally ruled. I love the way they go from electronic to balls out metal. They shift gears so much often. There's even rap in this. Not many bands can pull that off. My favorite Pumpkins song. Melissa is so amazing - shame the band caved in before she could really establish herself with them. Fun little fact: that light falling from the ceiling wasn't supposed to happen - Billy only wanted to shatter the bulb. You can see as soon as it falls he looks away as if to say, "Aw, fuck." I remember him talking about that moment on a commentary track on a Smashing Pumpkins DVD from around....10-15 years ago - he was pissed because he had to pay to replace the lighting fixture, and if I remember properly, he also fractured a bone in his hand from slamming that guitar into the ground.
