I like to think that Meggy calls Mario “Red”, because she didn’t know him. Mario is an icon in his world. Anyone who doesn’t know him calls him by his color, like “Red Stache”. I like Meggy a lot. She’s hilarious, and adds care to Mario outside of Luigi and SMG4. She’s pretty, too. Plus, I’m an athlete, and when this came out, I thought “It’s cool there’s an athletic character now.” I loved how she dominated everybody in Mario’s Challenge, only making people more intrigued with her. She also came in a hard time for my family... My favorite moment of her was her movie when she burned her butt like Mario does.

I like Meggy too for the reason you mentioned. I faced a major fucking change last year and it hit like a brick. That was going on during the release of the anime arc and it finished right as things got better for me. So I grew to love Meggy’s character because of how relatable she was.

Now the fact of SMG4 getting disgusted at reading the title "I Was Expecting Meggy" in his reaction to reditt makes sense. A lot of people thought it was because he doesn't like Mario X Meggy, but before the title, Luke says that he is the one slurping Bowsette. @@rafeyos3396 Because SMG4 changed too much to the point where it alienated older fans. Look at Paper Mario: First one is great, and the second one improves it without being too different. SPM was different, but it was still close to the first two. However, Sticker Star completely changed a lot of Paper Marios stuff. Also, I don't mind arcs and darker stories, but the problem is hoe they're executed. Some arcs and serious moments are good, but the other times are contriversal. Like how they tried to make an emotional scene over a bully rival who only appeared for 8 videos, or the arc that retcons a lot of SMG4.

@@turbobist2889 it did alienate older fans yes, however I’d be willing to bet that the people it brought in was a fair but more than the few that were cast away. Furthermore, most of the content produced before meggy has some questionable at best morals and humor that I think is the main reason why some older fans feel alienated. Now this is where we differ in that I never really had too much care for the arcs as I was mostly here for a couple of funny moments to brighten my day over emotional arcs and yea it has changed. However when looking at the growth experienced post change I would be willing to say that it was for the better even if I don’t entirely like it. Yea it definitely took it away from what it once was, but sometimes that’s a necessity to move with the times. If some of the vids they posted in like 2014 were posted today I garuntee it would not go anywhere near as good for them as it did back then. The change is reflective of what is now believed as morally correct and what isn’t over personal beliefs because of this. So even if you are like me and don’t really like the newer stuff you can still see why it was done and accept that it most definitely will not change back.

This answered quite a number of questions I had about Meggy, like why she was animated so crazy good. I always had a feeling Meggy wasn't meant to be as huge a character as she is now, but I didn't think she was always going to be more than a one-shot. Alright, I've got a lot to say about my favorite SMG4 character(besides Tari), so just bear with me (especially you, Luke and Kevin) and read it all the way to the end. Okay, here it comes: Ever since the end of anime arc, when Meggy turned into a human, my head has just been bursting with ideas that would involve Meggy in her new form. Firstly, now that she's a human now, she doesn't need to be afraid of touching water anymore, as we could see in the Desti's funeral scene where Meggy walks to the edge of the water without dissolving. That made me think, how about Meggy would take on some water-related hobbies. Yeah, we have seen in the "Minecraft Plague" episode how she was swimming with Fishy Boopkins, but I would like to see something more like that. For example, Meggy could be mistaken for a professional high diver and has to do a series of all the more daring and insane-looking jumps until the truth is revealed. Or she would train to become a competitive swimmer and would aim for an olympic medal. And one episode could be about Meggy and the gang going for a diving trip to a beautiful coral reef, but then Wario and Waluigi come to ruin it by capturing all the rare sea creatures to put them on display in their own aquarium (to get lots of money, of course). Then Meggy and the others go to rescue these marine creatures as well as Fishy Boopkins, who was accidentally caught with other fish. And secondly, somehow I found Meggy's new human form to be somewhat ironic, because she, just like all the other Inklings, hated anime, but her human form looks a lot like an anime character. So, after all these years of anime hatred and unacceptance, she turned into just the thing that she most tried to avoid, what she tried to hide from herself. So now that she is almost an anime character herself, she maybe should just leave that all loathing and despise behind and enjoy anime with her friends. And in fact, if you're interested, I've also come up with a full rough script for a possible 2-3 part mini arc that would explain why Meggy and the other Inklings started to hate anime in the first place. It would be really cool if you could at least consider making that idea a real video series, and when you have decided to start working on it, I can send the script to you via email (actually, I have already sent it, but I haven't heard anything from you since then). Let's make this happen together!😄 And one last thing before I stop my rant: Splatoon has become one of my favorite game series', and It was a really neat surprise from you to add a Splatoon representative to your ever-expanding roster. And also the Inklings themselves are some of the best characters for Gmod animation, I really don't remember why, but it might be for their big, expressive faces, which makes it much easier to perform different emotions depending on the scene, and also the little gestures add up a little spice to the mix. So now that Meggy is fully human now, even down to her voice, maybe you should add a male Inkling character to the cast, perhaps as Meggy's close friend (or a boyfriend😘) she had forgotten about. Just think about it! And that is all I got to say about this matter. Luke, I ask of you to PLEASE bring back inkling Meggy. And I know you want to move away from Splatoon, and you can just turn Meggy back into an Inkling, but you can have them be separate people. I don't understand whats the problem with Meggy, I honestly don't, this is not me being a fanboy or simping. I can understand why you don't like a character and you wish for things how they were before the change but that's not your choice, that's Kevin and Luke's choice. Change happens for a reason, its for the better of growing up and doing things that they can do. Besides it would be boring if he kept doing the same thing over and over again. He's the one creating this content, not us. If he didn't make any of these changes then we wouldn't have all of these characters that other fans adore, we won't have these arcs that can really change our perspective than just seeing them as goofy meme characters. I also don't want to hear that the old content was better and the new stuff doesn't meet your expectations. Who cares!? Nobody cares but you. And even so, if you think of that then why are you still a fan? Why? Give me the infinite reasons why over the fact it didn't meet your expectations? What's really ruining the community is you nostalgic day one brain dead fans. You can't accept change and you think its ruining the content as a whole when you are ruining yourself. Go find something else better to do. In my opinion, they are fine how they are making content that's is or isn't SMG4 related. They have to creative freedom to do whatever they put their minds to.
