Totally agree, saw them last friday in Amsterdam and I'm soo happy I managed to buy an overpriced ticket on the "black market" because it was very likely the best concert of my 45 yr old life. This album played life, with the sound quality that they arranged and all the "extras" that you mencioned, Jonny playing the harp and whole commitment that these guys still put in a life concert after all these years, its just mindblowing. Its a bit corny but I really feel privileged to be an "all things about Thom Yorke" fan. This guy single handed made me realize that its ok to be "different" in my most important and fragil stage in my life...my teenager years and now after 30 yrs he's still there very much present like a very trusted and reliable friend. Amazing stull...happy days 🙏
@em16812 жыл бұрын
@@luispinheirodosmontes7219 right, i feel so lucky to have gotten to see them perform live. Yet, something that bothers me a bit, is that i wish i could’ve been born early enough to be able to see radiohead become radiohead and like be a part of their younger lives and all that. But since I’m 16 I lost that opportunity. I do have the luck of growing up in an online world though, which gives me the possibility to watch old interviews and old concerts and stuff like that. Overall im just really happy i discovered them while they are still touring and releasing new music. I feel so so lucky to live in the same timeline as radiohead.

So many songs on this album can be labeled as leftovers from certain albums. @@rs6000_ Notes From Underground is my favorite book and perhaps the most existentially dismal piece of literature you’ll find, but it is equally hopeful. Somehow in the truth of that wretchedness, catharsis is found. When something doesn’t go anywhere, it’s void of soul. That’s how I’m experiencing these songs, not spiritually engaging.
@gw88132 жыл бұрын
That's such an interesting take! I'd never thought of their music that way. Would you say Bjork's music has that quality you're looking for? Or the band Battles? Or Floating Points (Movement 6)?

@@gw8813 I’m not looking for anything it’s just odd when something so beautifully crafted lacks meaning and flavor. A good piece of work guides you and you go with it. I’m really trying to like this band but we’re not going anywhere except deeper into despair. I think the artists are bored.
@96elixx2 жыл бұрын
Interesting take on it. I think that music, as every art form, is a potential carrier for emotions, thoughts and expressions the listener want or need to feel, think and live. I found these songs deeply cathartic, made me cry multiple times and made me realise deep truths about myself and the life situations i was and am in. you found them a beautifully packaged lack of emotions. both are equally valid and true. I think this is what makes music and art in general such a powerful yet incontrollable force of nature. maybe one day you will find some new truth and meaning in these songs, as I did with music I initially didn't really like. ☀️✌🏼
