1:58:35 This is a month old, so you probably won't see this, but I've been marathoning the podcast and it's come up a few times. The problem with FGO on rating servants with other gacha game comparisons is that FGO doesn't force restrictions in the same way almost every other game does. Like with Ryo's Nikkie example, most games "force" if you want a full clear, like no units die during the run, win within a certain time or minimum amount of turns stuff like that. So you see what teams people are using and spamming because that's clearly what beats that given content. FGO is generally just win the fight. It's the community itself that puts those restrictions on with min turning. You don't really need PVP elements to prove one character over another it would just be self evident on stage clearing if they had those restrictions and it be tied to the rewards.

Regarding the "they can just spook you thing" I've never liked that because as someone who has been playing JP since the start and consistently since part 2/end of Eor I still don't have Stheno, Zerkerlot, Ozy, or even Kiritsugu and I'm a dolphin. People grossly overestimate the odds of getting a specific spook in this game compared to ones like GBF where the pool is so big and the rate up barely matters.

I still only have a single copy of Atalante Alter and I roll fairly regularly. The idea that someone could just spook you isn’t wrong, but is a pretty unrealistic expectation for a servant

Yep I 100% agree. I don't get the notion of "I want to roll this servant, but they're permanent, so I'll skip". Like the chances of you getting a specific servant off spooks is miniscule. Just roll the servant if you want them regardless of if they're permanent or not.😂😂😂

Same here man, I've got about 5 years of play time combined on my 2 accounts. Neither account has Parvati, and I only just recently got my first nito, but that was only because I used the 4* ticket on her and of course the game would give me her the next time I rolled.

The amount of hate and downplay for Kuku is so forced ngl. Since you guys prefer Koyan and refuse or try using Kuku, here's a little fact about her. While it was generally agreed that Kuku is the superior DPS, many people were praising Koyan Dark's support ability for multi-core farming while dismissing or forgetting that Kuku is actually also a very decent support herself. Just because she is too good at one job (DPS), it doesn't suddenly make her ability in other roles (Support) any worse. A 10/10 DPS score does not suddenly make her 8/10 Support score went down to 6. Having access to a 50% targeted battery and 20% team Atk up will always be very valuable in ANY multi-core comp not just buster, no matter what situation you're in. Don't get me wrong btw. I'm not saying Koyan Dark is a weaker support than Kukulkan. When her niche works, it REALLY works. An example is the Koyan Dark / Double Bunyan comp during the Christmas Lotto, which was very popular among the JP players. Her application is just more restrictive and different compared to Kukulkan.

1:31:00 actually I made new account on jp 2 weeks ago, and only way i clear things is by picking 120 summer ibuki/summer castoria and supporting them with my waver and lady avalon i got in recent banner. i minturned 99% of main quests up to lb1. will be adding xu fu to the team when i get her from fp summons... point is: Yes, if you have new account, you should always pick 120 friend supports (unless you are nuzlocking ofc)

Kinda wish you haven't started your NA player/content creator rant and went into the topic of Merlins more. I still prefer OG Merlin to my Proto Merlin because healing is more useful in a longer fight where you get hit occasionally through your anti-purge either with normal attacks or with dot. The only reason Proto Merlin could be considered better than the OG at the moment is if you're rolling a bunch of copies for some stupid reason (as a F2P you should never do that on a non-dps) and even then I'm not going to be convinced. The starting extra 20% charge on Purin is nice and sometimes more max hp can tank an unfortunate slip through your immortal comp defense once, but because of max hp not being something to be infinitely relied upon to heal you back up like regular healing and because of the current arts meta's lack of consistent stall team dps servants I still don't go for it over the usual buster teams. Morgan(Himiko)/Merlin/Castoria to me is still generally better than something like Ibuki/Purin/Castoria and that's the whole issue. The reason for that is because of Ibuki's lack of generation of Castoria's anti-purge stacks compared to Morgan/Himiko. One of Purin's skills was designed to make her a bit less reliant on servants that have to push Castoria overcharge stacks on their NP bonus effect (Morgan/Himiko) by giving a single instance of NP overcharge up, but in the end it's still not as reliable as Morgan/Himiko effect on NP because you can't spam it as often. Having that overcharge effect on skill is only going to come up about once in 5 turns due to skill CD and it means that you will have to use one unbuffed NP chain for both Purin and Castoria pretty freaking often. Even if you're willing to use Ibuki's CD reduction skill on Purin every time, it's not going make it as consistent as just running the normal buster stall comp in my experience. Zerktoria/Purin/Castoria comp might be a little safer when you ran out of stacks and get lucked out on that enemy attack pattern rng not hitting the same unit twice and killing them when Zerktoria's NP takes effect with its single defense stack, but it's obviously isn't an ideal situation either and I'd rather prefer something more consistent. Basically arts need someone (like Morgan and Himiko) who can be just as consistent as keeping your team alive as a dps while also not making battles go painfully slow like in the Reines stall comps. No small QoL on Purin will make her generally better than OG Merlin until she can be more consistent than him at Castoria team stall. I really like that extra charge on Purin because it makes running good support CEs like 2030 an option over the usual Demonic Bodhisattva I usually run with my OG Merlin, so I really hope for more busted arts servants that make arts stall better. (Btw if I missed someone who can already do consistent art stall with Purin on the same level as buster, do tell)
