Just played ac 1 modded with Rtx is great. The parkour in this game besides the leap of faiths feel realistic like people can actually do it in real life I believe. My only gripe is the controls and sometimes the parkour not doing exactly what I want at times.

@@keyman245 I don’t think they made parkour the way it is in AC1 for realism; no, I think they did it for balancing. Like, Ezio can scale buildings at light speed, but that’s because renaissance Italy has way taller buildings-especially in Venice. AC1’s average building is one or two stories tall with relatively short walls; if Altair could scale them with the speed Ezio can, escaping from guards would be a cakewalk.

@@Hewasnumber1 nah at the time the main focus was probally doing something more "grounded" and real, like a slower more metodic Prince of persia, that's why the original ac (Prince of persia spin off) was already about an sneaky assasin, and not some big loud warrior, I could be wrong but It makes more sense, this and because It was the first game they could Just give Altair a fast climb to make an fast paced game, but they balanced to be more grounded Actually in the end both theories are valid at the same time, they did slower for balance because they where focusing on realism and not fast paced.

The beauty on simplicity. You dont have to make one thing perfect nor amazing, just do it ALL well done and the game works. Parkour, combat, ambience, music, voices & dialogues, story accuracy(the most of AC) CHASES (the only game wich had real chases in wich you could not escape in about 5-10 secs by just running, maybe aciii too) AC1 had everything well done, but actually it had few things

@@lowkeyfiasco that's because some paths can look buggy at times in ac1's iteration of the classic system, as it wasn't too polished until ac2. other problem can be some awkward placement of objects, but this clip isn't the case. the last thing is, some objects have a small cooldown that forces you from instantly jumping off of them, if you are auto-pathing. these cooldowns can be avoided by instantly manual jumping the moment you land on the object. also, i have literally zero nostalgia over this game, as the first time i played it was barely 2 years ago. it'd look better in a complex route because that's where the stylish aspect of this system shines. wall ejects, catch ledge, vaults, and fist/grab drops look usually more consistent, (except for the vault in some cases) let you perform really fun and good -looking chains of movement. sure, ac1 may not have the prettiest animations or the widest moveset like unity, or the flashiness of the kenway saga, but it has the most freedom and consistency. you should watch "reclusive starfish o_o"'s channel, he has some good ac1 parkour snippets, also others from the ezio trilogy.

Cool tip: Disabling the health bar from the HUD-options bloops and beeps of the detection gauge. You won't be having a detection gauge, but it doesn't really matter when the enemies give you a verbal warning when you're getting detected. Though another very cool thing that it does is that it makes the combat feel a lot more visceral. At least I had the problem with the assassin-based AC games that your character was too tanky, but with the health bar disabled you're instead just left with the animation and sound as a frame of reference for how damaged you get and the animations do look like they really hurt, plus that you get far more immersed. So it turns into a better deterrent for avoiding damage.

AC1 is the only AC game that you can realistically complete in full stealth for all Assassination Targets who don't force a stealth break before their death with all HUD elements turned off because the side missions give you maps of guard positions and patrol routes for that area, meaning you don't need a minimap of red dots prewarning you of the enemy around the corner. AC1 has it's problems, but my god is it the AC game where you feel most like an Assassin. I don't know how they could have kept the series going though playing like this. The series would have gotten stale quickly if everygame was just AC1 but more polished. Ezio's trilogy definitely makes you feel like an Assassin who is challenging the old ways of the Creed and bringing it to the Renaissance era, especially ACB. Actually I like the progression of the original "trilogy" (Ezio gets three games, but I consider it one story). Altair starts the Brotherhood on its path to reform, Ezio is the literal Renaissance of the Assassins and Connor is the last success the Assassins really have before the Templars start crushing them by the point of the Modern day story. I sorta like the Idea that AC3 is supposed to be massive tragedy that reflects the tragey of colonial America. A new land, a chance for a fresh start - and humanity makes all the same evil mistakes that cause bloodshed, war and death. Likewise, the Templars and Assassins, despite being closer than ever in AC3 to sharing the same motives, methods and goals as each other - fall back into murdering each other. Alot of people hate AC3 and Connor and I was definitely a bit dissapointed when it released, but in retrospect it had be the way it was to explain the downfall of the Godly Assassin Order from the 1200s to the mind 1500s.

Man, playing AC games without HUD is as hard as satisfying. Some of them are simply inpossible, but i made it on AC1 (put your ear on when the rafiq says where you should look for your objetive, and climb viewpoints to locate specific places) Origins (hard, but the game developers thought about it and there is always ways to know where to go or findung your objetive, just LOOK what your seeing, really better than an ugly icon with metres going down) Mirage too, it was the easiest by far, i had to open the map really few times. In fact, Enkidu & Senu became really good friends for me 😂 tried on odyssey, but clearly its not made for that way of crazy playing. You simply cant hide the map on the others without ruining the gameplay, and i wont even speak about valhala, probably pretty viable, but i didn like that game at all. Obviously, they all have missions in which you must activate it.

I seem to remember Altair and Ezio both going everywhere EXCEPT the direction the joystick was pointing, like the most miniscule correction left or right would send them straight in that direction. The controls alternated between being too constrained in some situations and way too loose in others. Fun games, but the control quirks drove me batty.

Ac1-rev are the most responsive in the series and the characters instantly listen to whatever input you make. So it was probably a flick of the joystick or something along those lines that caused that issue.

It's a great bit of world building that the games slowly lost imo. In universe the Assassins are effectively the evil scary murderers to the average citizen. We get to see them as the secret unsung heros of humanity's freedom, but to the people of 12th century, Altair literally just walks into town, murders whoever he pleases for seemingly no reason and disappears for a few months only to come back and do it again... twice. In three seperate cities. Imagine if a guy did in real life in the middle of New York, Washington and Los Angeles 😂

I think it looks more realistic than later games. It's like Altair's pausing slightly before he jumps to make sure he's going to actually make the jump. I prefer to the later games were the characters have regressed to monke and are parkour around on a level that would make chimpanzees jealous.

Gotta disagree mates. The story is in the dialogue and the notes Altair makes after each kill. It’s subtle. And the conversations with the templars are by far the most interesting the conflict between the two camps have ever been. It perfectly shows the different ideologies of them both. Something the games after never really brought back. Except for 3

@@knighttime5761 The story in AC1 is literally one of the best though??? It had to set up a lot of concepts for the world whilst also making Altair’s journey actually interesting. And it succeeded spectacularly. It made the Assassin and Templar conflict the most nuanced, in-depth, and interesting that it’s ever been. Altair himself is my favorite character in the franchise because he goes through a journey of being humbled and wisened up, but still retaining what made him him. It’s especially great how his free will, his greatest flaw, was turned to his most spectacular strength. It turned from pride and ego to wisdom and creativity, and that transformation was incredible to watch.

Swimming would only have been used in a handful of areas, and the open-world itself was a relatively late design choice. They didn’t have time to add a mechanic that would have seen so little use, so they just made it so you can’t swim. Air assassination is in the game, and it’s actually one of my favorite implementations of the mechanic ever. You have to lock onto an enemy and perform a high profile assassination. It’s range is rarely ever longer than what Altair could achieve through a manual jump; and you can’t jump off a three story building onto an enemy, but I think that works in it’s favor. It’s not as cool to just jump off a ridiculously high vantage point directly on top of an enemy as it is to quickly find a path down to enter air assassination range. And the mechanic is still really helpful; like in my most recent playthrough, I accidentally threw a throwing knife that sent an archer falling down to the ground and alerted my target. I hopped down to beam and air assassinated him as he was running by, and it felt much more rewarding than it would have been if I was playing AC2.
