Got an 08 FXDL with forward controls, 11" extended drag bars and Python pipes. I'm 5'5" with a 30" inseam, bike fits me perfect, I could ride it cross country no problem. Hell I road my 1988 Honda Hurricane from San Diego to Upstate NY when I got out of the service back in 94, if I can do it on that I can easily do it on a Dyna,... the trip was 3300 miles

I have that bike. I'm 5'9. The mids are ideal for me. Mine is still bone stock and pretty damn fast. It's a great bike really like mine.

2002 Lowrider- Last carbureted year model, last year with a cold forged crank, allegedly better able to handle performance upgrade even though the engine is smaller before Cubic inches increased the following years. Claimed by some to be the best year for this model. Some say Harley makes its money by selling aftermarket parts to improve performance. Whoever said a dysfunctional personality was boring. You get what you pay for.

I have a '99 FXDL. Forward controls. Carb, twin disc was standard. Had a '95 evo FXDL before this one. 70 gets tiring quick unlike 60 without a fairing so 5 speed is fine.

Does the stress of getting hit outway any enjoyment of riding these day's? I can't imagine enjoying myself when I have to worry about EVERY car as a potential idiot driver. Phones, Bad Roads, Weed, and inexperienced drivers, unlicensed drivers, etc. Make me very nervous especially here in Boston. Crazy busy roads.

Can't speak for Boston, but riding is absolutely still an enjoyable experience. Some riders do reserve themselves for track riding to enjoy pushing their limits in a relatively controlled environment, but you'll still find most riders on the road. In our safety classes, we teach search strategies to make riders more aware of other highway users and potential hazards. Sure, they may have to use the swerve and emergency braking a little more than before, but riders still find this heightened level of awareness effective. Some riders avoid city riding during rush hours but still find the right time to enjoy a quieter cruise.
