My grandpa had this on a tape and when I lived in Alanson (I'm from Petoskey, MI.) he'd come get me for the weekend and listen to this every single time. So funny. 😂

Sister & I listened to our mom's old Smothers Brothers albums over and over and thought this track was hilarious! "Inside-outside-inside-outside-sideoutside.." Today it would be considered way too offensively racist.

H I A W A T H A H U N T S O N G On the shores of Gitchee Goomee, By the shining big sea water, Stood the wigwam of Nakomah And the little Hiawatha Hiawatha, he went hunting, Went to hunt a bunny rabbit, Had to make a pair of mittens From the bunny rabbit's fur Oh he hunted over woods, He hunted over dell, He hunted all about, Where the bunny rabbits dwell He hunted all the day, He hunted all the night, At last he found a rabbit With the fur just right Now the fur upon the rabbit, Has the warm side, fur-side, outside, Hiawatha found that rabbits Have the cold side skin-side in So to keep the cold air outside, He put the inside, skin-side, outside, And to keep the warm air inside, He put the skin-side inside-out That is why to keep the warm side, He put the warm side, fur-side, outside, And the skin-side inside-out side, And he turned them inside outside Hiawatha, he went hunting, Went to hunt a bunny rabbit, "Hi there! I'm your bunny for the evening, Tommy!" Had to make a pair of mittens From the bunny rabbit's fur

I never understood what he said in that line. Was it an old cig ad slogan?

do you have the Civil War Song from the same album? I'd love to hear that one again. I listened to this album over and over while babysitting my sisters kids back in the late 60's early 70's

I'm offended by the illustration of Dick Smothers. I'm offended by his phallic nose and chin. See, I can do it, too. Finding offense in the Smothers Brothers' act is a heroic feat.

His nose and chin don't resemble any of the phallus I've ever seen.

This would be so "Politically Incorrect" today. Too bad people are oversensitive now. Funny thing is that for the 60's they were politically Left.

In those days there was No P.C. White was right, and that was that! Today this is Totally Offensive! One thing we have learned as Human Beings, is you cannot change the past...Sorrowfully...

@Softeyes4peace you need to lighten up. Your "awareness" has opened? According to whom? Who are you to judge what is and what isn't offensive? Hypocrite.
