Pro tip: If you plan on buying soap loaves, I recommend taking all the bars out of the packaging and allow them to cure for 1-2 weeks, or more. This will allow any remaining water in the recipe to exit which will extend the longevity of the soap. It will also assist in making the soap more gentile, provide a better lather and give it a better scent profile.

So I do like this soap. I think it is a good experience. I wish it lasted on my skin longer. It does remind me of that commercial online soapscribing company. It smells amazing and lathers well. It arrived quickly but Cincinnati, Ohio is close to Indiana. As for my problem earlier, I think I’m showering too often. Before you’re channel I would shower only once a day and I would only bar soap once in the shower. Now I bar soap three or four times twice a day. My skin isn’t used to it I guess. I lotion up afterwards which I never ever ever used lotion and it solves the problem. I just need to scale back or get my body used to it. Otherwise it’s all me not you. It's interesting that the bar soap industry also has wholesalers supplying product for companies who use their own branding and marketing. The exact same thing is going on in the American whiskey industry, and it is causing some controversy (see MGP of Indiana). What they do is distill and age all sorts of whiskies. Then they sell it to companies to brand and sell it themselves (Bulleit rye and Bulleit bourbon are one of the prominent brands who actually have their product produced by this mass-producer in Indiana, but many others are actually just MGP as well.
@BarSoapGuy5 жыл бұрын
Wow wiskey huh ? I suppose I could see some value to the wholesale system in terms of reaching an audience that hasn't been introduced to the product . Some people today have more money than time and are simply willing to accept what's sold to them without trying to find cheaper alternatives. Still wholesale wiskey makes me chuckle...
@JosephSpadafino5 жыл бұрын
@@BarSoapGuy Yep, wholesale whiskey is especially infuriating to whiskey drinkers, because we sort of view a whiskey as being 'from' the distillery (e.g. Jack Daniels uses water from the nearby stream in Tennesee, or Jim Beam uses corn grown right there in Kentucky). So it's sad to see a bottle of whiskey [sourced from MGP] that has some story on the bottle (e.g. "This is old grand pappy's recipe from the 1800s etc.")

In case you didn't end up asking The Soap Guy about the ingredients, I asked him, and he gave me the ingredients list from the website. What I found is that every single one of his products has Sodium Hydroxide, a chemical that may cause severe skin irritation. That's probably what caused your skin to dry out. These bars of soap aren't all natural. Disappointing, although with how cheap the soap is, I guess I should have expected that.
@jseek25125 жыл бұрын
All soap is made with sodium hydroxide. Even store bought! With out lye u cannot make soap.

@@jseek2512 Yes I know store bought soaps have it. It's cheap because it uses chemicals in replacement for some natural ingredients, which are more expensive right? If you couldn't make soap without it, then how could anyone call their soap all natural?

Sodium Hydroxide (Lye )is naturally made by leaching ashes. Soap can not be made without it.
@robertjohnson82504 жыл бұрын
@@GuardianAngelEatos Actually, that's false... ALL soaps have it, not just store bought. It's required to manufacture soap. Some companies don't list it in their ingredients because it's not an active ingredient & is no longer present once the manufacturing process is done ("Lye is neutralized in the process of saponification, the conversion of fat or oil into soap when combined together. As long as the other ingredients are natural, the soap will stay natural during the soap making process because lye is not present in the final product").
@GuardianAngelEatos4 жыл бұрын
@@robertjohnson8250 Huh. That makes sense if that is actually true. I'm not a soap expert, so I'll take your word for it.
