the way that they wrote grizz was honestly so genuine. he wasn’t a homophobic jock who was ashamed to be who he was. he was soft and caring and sweet. i mean, the scene in the forest when they’re about to execute dewy and he lowers his gun and throws up. THAT is so powerful and i appreciated it so much. grizzam moved quite quickly but i get why it might’ve happened that way. in their heads, they’re the only gay people in the society and therefore are perfect for one another. so they move fast, like extremely fast. and then the whole thing with sam acting as the becca’s baby’s dad was genius. it sucks, it made me really mad. but it just goes to show how good of a friend he is to her. i have no clue when the second season is coming out but i’m waiting patiently for my babies.

Cassandra and Harry were both in the hospital at the same time. Harry was suffering from substance abuse and Cassandra was in the hospital for her heart condition. While they were in the hospital they got close. And they confided into each other and told each other there secrets. Later Cassandra does something that angers Harry and they both loose trust in each other and become the “enemy’s” that they portray in The Society. So whenever Cassandra made the comment to Harry about him being sober, it was bc she new the truth.

O Norsk Person Unicorn at that point though, you can't really assume he is going to kill anyone. He is a psychopath. Being a psychopath doesn't mean you will actually kill or harm a person. It just means you have a lack of empathy or remorse which makes it easier for you to do the act compared to others. I assume there may be functioning psychopaths out there like there are functioning sociopaths that are extremely manipulative but not actually commuting violent crimes. Warning people about Campbell in that small community would be literally ruining all his interactions with people which isn't justifiable if he hasn't committed a violent act. It's finding him guilty before he has even done the crime. So I can see why you wouldn't tell a bunch of people about Campbell' mental disorders. They didn't know Campbell had done anything wrong.

1) I love how realistic it is when it comes to teenagers surviving the “apocalypse” everyone would totally just start killing each other. 2) I love the rise of Campbell because that’s also very realistic. 3) I love how Allie made mistakes and continued to rely on other people throughout the show but quickly realizes shes better protecting herself and proving herself. 4) I loved the realism when it came to death and killing people. 5) I loved everyone else’s reactions to what was happening - like the teenagers hating Allie Bc she has power, Becca freaking out on how to raise her kid in this world, boys not knowing which side to be on or how to be good or bad. 6) Will sucks - I honestly want him to turn bad and be a bad guy because that would be better than him just being himself LOL It’s just so good. This show is good and realistic but also has very dynamic characters. It’s awesome.

I was rewatching the Society and I just realised something that could be huge and could give more information about where they are. In the play at the start there is a joke between Cassandra and Harry that every time she flips a coin it lands on heads. Then when they are all inside the church waiting for Grizz and the other people (Including the girl who died from a snake bite) Cassandra suggests that they start rationing and stop panic buying (or in this case taking) but then Harry disagrees with her, like always, asking who will get to decide who takes what. Cassandra says to flip a coin, and instead of it always landing on heads, it keeps landing on tails. Eventually it does land on heads, but I thought this could mean that the world they are in is the same town, but kind of like the upside down in ST, like their parents are on one side and they are on the other, like flipping a coin..

ALX BO exactly. Obviously Connecticut has a majority of white people. I’ve been there plenty of times, I know firsthand. People always excuse lack of diversity as being realistic because people of color are “minorities,” but why is that the only place they need to be realistic? What’s realistic about anything in this situation? If they could have a whole sci-fi supernatural subplot then they could have had some more people of color. Also Netflix shows have terrible track records with diversity anyway. If it was this one show then maybe, but on multiple of their shows if there are non white people then it’s one black person and one Asian person. Honestly I wasn’t going to respond to any of these replies because I knew I was going to get “oh well it’s realistic because of the time/place/whatever” like people do with literally any form of media where people of color should have been included.

Mandy Mace I just looked up Connecticut on justice maps, and I looked at income, black people, and Hispanic people. In the more wealthy part and it’s 66% white... you do understand that just because majority are white doesn’t mean that there needs to be a lack of diverse characters in the front lines. Like in the show the only diverse people I saw were either in the back ground, or a small character. There was not one black main character or Hispanic character in the front. The only character That could fit that description is will, but 1 he’s mixed, and 2 he’s light skinned. Not saying that there’s something wrong with that it’s just, that’s not diverse, we see people like him all the time, like yeah he might be black, Hispanic, and white, but like no black kid or Hispanic kid would see themselves in him.

People get together that quickly in real life all the time, and when you are in a town with limited people (and for sam, apparently just one other person that is gay and also happens to like you) it’s not that difficult to understand why they began a relationship quickly. Another thing that bugged me was the work program thing. They kind of tackled it with Harry being depressed and losing parts of his food rations, but I wish they'd gone deeper. I mean, it was accurate : not everyone who is able-bodied can work. Because some people are mentally-ill, or have mental issues that can prevent them from working. It's a little thing compared to the main plot and all, but idk it was questioned at some point and I wish it had been done more. And showing Harry in his bed, not caring about anything, was also a way to show his downfall, but idk it kind of rang a bell. Because I know, as someone dealing with depression and anxiety, I could've been in this situation. During depressive episodes I can barely get out of bed, eat, shower, and I even missed some very important exams and got 0s because of it. Let alone go and work all day, surrounded by people. In this very situation, I could've been like Harry. Because I wouldn't have been able to get out of bed, and having no motivation to even live, I wouldn't have cared if my rations were lowered or not. Just like Harry did. I feel like it should've been talked about, what to do and how to function with mentally ill people. Once again, I know it's a very little and futile detail, but I feel like, with the scene with Harry not being able to get out of bed, it could've been tackled. Especially since this show aims at showing and thinking about how to recreate a society, and a better one than the previous one. Allie's clearly thinking inclusive, and she's thinking about ways to make everyone feel included, safe. And she's trying to find a balance between individualism and communism, which is very interesting. I feel like it could've been mentioned.

my take on harry and cassandras relationship: cassandra and harry had a close and unlikely friendship, and harry was crushing on her pretty openly (i imagine he'd be super flirty back then, while cass was too focused on her studies and would brush him off playfully). harry eventually allowed himself to be LEGIT vulnerable and revealed his addiction issues, expecting cass to support him, but cass was really upset. she's suddenly acting distant and barely talking to him. soon harry confronts her and he's super angry and upset, meanwhile cass is very closed off and explains that she doesn't want to associate with him because of his issues and says she thinks he's a bad influence in the bluntest way possible. so their relationship hit a dead end there but there's a ton of bitter energy left over. and that also ties into the gross stuff harry said abt wanting cass to beg for it- it's his awfully misguided way of handling the fact he's STILL crushing on her while she couldn't see him that way.

right I have a theory: 1: I do think Campbell is Edens father and I think Sam knows because the eye comment seemed genuine from Kelly and Sam didn't really say much abt it. He just agreed but to me it didn't seem sincere. So maybe he knew that Campbell did something to Becca, and in a interview with Kathrine( actress that plays ally) the interviewer asked if she knew who Edens father was and could she give any hints. She said that it was someone that had an impact on the show, someone we would never guess, and that it would cause New Ham and everyones family to fall apart. And I think we can all agree that however that Childs father is will change the show forever. 2: I do think that they are in a parallel world, but not in the way you might think. They all fall asleep on the bus, right, and they wake up in New Ham. But isn't it weird that every single kid is asleep. As my experience going on school trips, there is always a few kids awake no matter what, like come on this is a whole buss of 16 and 17 year olds. So I think that they entered a parallel world that caused they all to knock out and stay knocked out but they were all able to see and connect into each others minds. So they might be truly sitting on a bus while their parents have presumed them dead and their really just trying to wake themselves up.
