Beyond what he's going to do, which will bring ruin upon the world, he made us trust him, care about him, and most importantly for me, respect him. I valued his opinions and words even if I didn't always agree with everything he said. And he took that trust and violated it. And worst of all, it's not the first time he's done this. He is the Dread Wolf after all:(. And yet I still care about him.

It's pretty funny when humans are so hurt by the betrayal of an Elf. Not even realizing how many times humans have betrayed, murdered and enslaved the elvan people, and took their land for themselves. How can ppl even make the claim they were friends of Fen'Harel sorry Solas they were only friends as long as their goals lined up with their own. If he was your friend you would at least acknowledge why he's doing what he's doing and acknowledge the sacrifice he's willing to make for what he believes in. It's so much easier to shun and demonize him. Real friends aren't bound by duty and circumstance. Forgive me I forgot we live in a age that doesn't comprehend what friendship really means and uses it for every person in their life.

@@dl-outofthisworldsounds845 I wasn't meaning any one particular person in general it's so annoying how many times I hear hatred for him well without even understanding him,what he's seen and had to endure. I can even fathom the emotional pain he's had to endure. Remember when elves go into uthenera (pretty sure I'm spelling that wrong) but they have full consciousness on what goes around him. But I have no pity for the ones who say well he plans to destroy the world. In which well that depends on what means by that I'd he means human cities and society. My retort is the humans brought that Pandora's box upon themselves. I don't see Solas as the Dalish do,they have a very morbid philosophy of the Dread Wolf. Especially since he was the one that freed them from slavery,sad if you think Abt it they hate they savior for getting rid of their tyrannical masters. I also know if they follow the storyline I have the feeling that "reckoning" that flemmeth spoke of will be one of two things. The Evanuris or the humans, maybe even possibly both. I honestly would love it to have potential branching storylines depending on race origin and the freedom to choose on which side they want to go(they prob won't because bioware is known for a single ending with branching dialogue but the concept of a potentially different story to me at least is very appealing) but in any event ty for your thoughts and sorry if I write essays,some complain Abt it lol.

I completely get what you are saying and I agree, Tevinter mages in particular are evil for this reason. But this egghead literally destroyed his entire culture. He did that. Not humans. The elves would still be powerful if not for this boiled egg. Tevinter wouldn't have stood a chance if he hadn't done what he did.

Sure. Lets judge the action of one by the decisions of others because of race. Seems like a good criteria. One that doesnt benefit the elves. No human, in all that conquering and slavering, ever destroyed the world literally. Solas did it once, and want to do it a second time. Spare me the victimhood excuses. If the descriptions of the evanuris by Solas are to be trusted, and the entirety of a race is to be judged by their actions and Solas actions, the elves deserved worst than they got. Its one nice touch of Tresspasser to reveal that, as bad as Tevinter was back in the day, its still less evil than their victims used to be.

Dragon Age has to be the only series where i love the world, and the characters but dislike the fandom, and almost anyone who plays it. While this makes me sound unlikable, there is a deep, sincere reason. It's because the characters in this world have such depth that few can articulate. I can talk at length about Alistair, Cassandra, Anders...... but for now, our focus is on Solas. Solas.... Fen'Harel, the Dread wolf..... where can I begin? I often roll my eyes at the Lavellan romances & those that claim he ''betrayed them". The romancers often know little about his actual character. He's just another ''mysterious, troubled boyfriend'' to bring to bed. A reason i believe ''Love'' is shallow, indistinguishable from Lust. And for the ''betrayers''; do you think Vivienne is your friend simply because she joined the inquisition?? I hate when people reduce his motivations to the ignorant and hypocritical argument of "genocide". Humans are no better and are perfectly capable of committing such acts to benefit our species. Hell, we did it to our races eventhough we are all human. I suppose calling a cow, or chicken, an animal without " sentience", allows us to sleep better at night. But that trait is only valued because we have the power. If a Tiger was the dominant species, they may prefer strength and agility. And anything that didn't qualify is an "animal". This is not a pro-animal speech. The point is, species favour their own above all else - it's not evil. Perhaps, we can convince Solas to see differently (as we have come to see differently as Humans). That would make for an epic and heart-wrenching story. We will save you if we can Solas.
