For the decision on the rex I have to say, some creatures in nature always will triumph against others. A Bear will ALWAYS maul a Cayote. A Tyranosaurus Rex will ALWAYS maul a Ceratosaurus.

It would probably replenish ammo and have no bad effects. Again, the trolls ARE the problem but these will greatly increase trolls killing potential.

carno is not on the trodon diet, in fact if you look at it: the largest dino the trodon can eat is a teno. so even though the venom mechanic is designed for apex predators like carno and cerato they are not on the trodon diet which seems kind of contradictory.

I feel like rex not being on official is good. If you grow a rex nothing can kill other than another rex. Since officials have no rules there are gonna be mega packs of rexes which will take over the server and you wont be able to enjoy the game. Until other apexes get added rex on unofficials is good

i feel like snipers are gonna be to OP to be honest guns in general, the long range is gonna be hard to balance with the way dinos work. i wouldn't mind the tribal humans with some bows and arrows as i feel you would have to be coordinated with that kind of weapon to take down a decent sized Dino and bows and arrows probably take more skill to hit ur shots witch makes it abit more challenging. honestly tho humans in general i could do without.

The rifle in question is most likely .308 or 7.62 nato. With a well placed shit could likely down game as large as the carnotaur but more aptly suited for things like the omnis and tenontos. If it is one of the retrofitted m24s in .300 win mag then it could certainly stack up tot he cera and Carno or downing a stego with some well placed shots.

For reference on hunting dinosaurs, large enough crocodiles tend to be bulletproof up to a certain caliber, and well most everyone has heard about Australias Emu war.

The thing with emus is that their organs take up such little space within their body that it was very difficult to kill them. Some heavily armoured dinos like the anky (when it comes out) and the deino would most likely be able to tank some shots.

Couple points; 1. Guns have been planned since day one, so I dont know why you're surprised about them. 2. Guns will be strong, sure, but will also be extremely rare, and are basically a dinner bell for animals. 3. .308 with a polymer tip could probably organ kill any dinosaur, now if they do ammo types and you can load a hollow point then it would probably kill any medium-small dino. I hope they look at games like The Hunter: Call of the Wild. Really good examples there.

Polymer Tip cartridges don't have the penetration you think it does. Polymer tip rounds have less penetration than soft points irl. Polymers explode immediately after impact, soft points will break apart and spawl. FMJ would obviously have the most penetration. Call Of The Wild is one I wouldn't base the guns off of but I would make the organs work the same.

They COULD put Rex on officials, but they would need to be severely limited in number. With the amount of current playables and server size taken into consideration, without a limit; Rexes would be EVERYWHERE and the game would become T-Rex battle royal. There should only be around 5-6 Rexes on a server at a time, hatchling Rexes spawned from nests shouldn't count towards the the population limit, since raising baby rexes would be very hard to begin with.

Ammo looks like .270 WIN or 30-06, maybe even .300 WBV. The first two are used for hunting boar, elk, deer, black bears, and sheep/goats, while .300 WBV is used for grizzlies and moose. Either way, they are large rounds that could take down a dino and other megafauna if shot in the right spots The pistol, on the other hand, looks smaller caliber. Maybe 9mm. That’s your pest Dino control, your duckies and Troodons. As well as against other humans. However, there is nothing for scale for either weapons. For all I know, that’s a giant pistol the size of a shoulder-mounted rocket launcher

Kissen keeps talking about rex not being on official. If rex isn't on official, what does that say for spino? For giga? Or any other apex creatures they have in mind? It feels incredibly weird to base a game like this purely around mid-level dinosaurs and humans hunting them. Humans should exist to help regulate and hunt down the larger creatures. Not the smaller ones that they're so worried about being hunted by said humans. Edit: I've honestly made several comments regarding this on The Isle News channel where it vlogs the discord Q&A's and isle streams. Its incredibly disheartening to hear them say this, as one of the special feelings of legacy was joining an official server and knowing you could be hunted by ANYTHING at any time.

Bringing humans to the game and turning it into a 'shoot the dinos' game is stupid. I really hate the idea. IDK why Dondi is so set on this concept. There's already enough crap trying to kill you other than having a human that can one shot you with a gun and you might never even see them. Of course, by the time it comes out live I might be in my 80s so .. guess I won't care. As for the T-rex, I have zero clue why they are taking out the apexes. They're popular. And people still play everything else. Besides which, apexes were mostly just dangerous to other apexes. Small dinos are too fast and agile for them. The only problem with the stego? There's nothing that counters it, because there's nothing powerful enough to do it, not without a lot of work and effort.

I personally never liked the idea of having pew pews in The Isle. I wanted the Isle to be a realistic dinosaur survival game. Which it is at the moment. I don't want The Isle to turn into a dino v. human fighting game; with just more realistic mechanics than Primal Carnage. At the least I wish it could be an option to turn off humans. Just never liked the idea of pew pews and dinosaurs together. Just my thoughts.

I bet those force-multipliers will have a tracker, tranq, and bullet. Tracker for maybe 5 minutes, no stack would be cool but should def be rare to find. Tranq could be a stun like the carno charge so easily shaken off if you're a big boi, not so easily if you're smol, the land deino style of drag and drown basically. Bleed is like normal attack and if you rest it'll go away, will be stackable and might cause disease or broken bones depending on where you're shot. Would be interesting if it was implemented this way but I doubt it since it'd be one hell of a code to make.

That was the original idea of the Isle. Infact, there is concept art of a human to Dino interaction being, a human trapping and forcibly controlling a Dino player as it’s mount. Something very interesting and makes a pretty unique dynamic However the humans are so dumb and not finished idfk why they would even bother adding them at this point. Why does isle love to add unfinished glitchy shit instead of waiting for the rest of the game to be fleshed out I have no clue. Humans shouldn’t be added until every other Dino is added

Really sucks playing Carno right now, like Cera is just better in a fight straight up. The charge ram feels so hard to consistently get off due to poor turning while sprinting while Cera and their charge bite has way better turning, even the slower speed means nothing if you run out of stamina first or only being better for running away as it ain’t going to stop you taking hits when up close. Carno feeling like an abused stepchild next to everything Cera gets, even small things like not being able to overeat is huge so you don’t accidentally puke up all those nutrients. It’s busted good.

The rifle, I could see used on raptors. Possibly? Might take more than one shot, of course. However, I'm well aware that humans will be in the game, but man, I'm not looking forward to them being implemented. The Isle is best with just dinos, IMHO. Again, I know they're coming. It is what it is, I'll still play. As far as the Rex not on officials, I agree with you 100%. I think it's definitely a bad call. Because I can see them making the same decision with Spinos. Bullets can go through metal much less dinosaur scales. Even nine millimeter bullets can go through car Panels. Also, the smaller guns could be used for self-defense against other humans. That might have themselves competing amongst each other regarding an objective. So I would wanna take you out if you're trying to kill my Rex that I want to kill. And also the steamblog mentions that there aren't gonna be attachments.

I'd actually understand putting the rex on officials only, but the other way around is weird to me. There's things like shops on a lot of the Legacy servers, where you can just buy a full grown rex and I find that irritating. Growing a rex to 100% is supposed to be hard to accomplish. If they make it that you can only get the rex on community servers on Evrima it will actually be unplayable because of the amount of people who are going to buy a full grown one if the servers decide to implement shops on Evrima aswell. In my opinion, they need to either release the rex with a couple of other strong dinosaurs that can belance the ecosystem a bit or they need to balance the rex to fit the current ecosystem to begin with.

The part that concerns me about the addition of guns is how realistic are the devs going to make it? While balance of standard rifle rounds (5.56 and 7.62) wouldn't be too hard (although 7.62 headshot would likely kill most medium dinos) when you get to high powered rounds like the old school .30-06 or modern sniper rounds like .303 or .308, a headshot is going to kill. A Pachy head on through the thickest layer of skull might survive, but most are getting a hole bored straight through their hollow skulls. Even a Rex. Although Rexes had relatively small brains compared to their skull size.... I while I would appreciate the realism of 1-shotting big game Rexes, balance wise I don't think that's fair. However long it takes to grow a full Rex or Deino vs any Warzone Sniper/Sniper Elite player or Call of the Wild Hunter doesn't seem fair. (Note: This is coming from a former sniper with experience in game balancing to a moderate degree. I would ask any large game hunters to share their opinions cause shooting people and vehicles is very different than hunting moose and bears.) Edit: Let's not even bring up .50 BMG. An anti-materiel rifle will drop any land creature. Maybe an Argentinosaurus could survive selective body shots

It will be interesting when people show up. Their weapons may be powerful, but they won't necessarily be made too powerful. I mean, it wouldn't make any sense to shoot the dinos from 500 meters away. However, in close combat, dinos are expected to humiliate humans. In the open field, during the day, people will have an advantage. However, at night or in the jungle, for example, people will be at an absolute disadvantage. I won't even mention the water. Crocs pull people into the water in the same way. Carno and cerato can be said to be the top predators at the moment. And two pipers don't fit in one tavern, as they say here. They clearly want to exterminate the other. Not much is said about carno in its current state. When you start with it, it's still very small. It turns pretty bad, maybe the worst in the game. It's pretty fast though. If cerato wants to hurt you with charged bite, but you also charge towards him, carno's attack will hit in first. Cerato is stunned, while carno can attack 1X, 2X more. That's a pretty big advantage. Maneuvering is the cerato's only chance at this point, but if your tail is hit by the carno, you will still be stunned. So I think carno is pretty good. Even if it's been nerfed from its old self, it's still very powerful. Maybe the troodon or the raptor, which can be successful against it. But it's also very complex.

I'm a gun enthusiast and hogs would be fine with a .308. A Utahraptor would probably be fair game with a .308 as well. Anything more robust such as a carno, cerato and so on would need a minimum of 7mm rem mag, Anything bigger and your need .50 BMG.

I don't agree with guns unless they find a way to not make them completely overpowered, I don't want to see a human going around with an AK-47 killing 50 rexes by themselves. edit : "I'm one of you... just deformed, okay?"

Larger "lovemaker" looks like a .338. Probably could drop just about anything. Think like a step down from a .50. Though when it comes to the big bois I'd say a .50 minimum would be the way to go. The smol "lovemaker" really depends. Alaskan bush pilots carry 10mm for bear defense, and they are dealing with Grizzly Bears so.... .45 ACP was developed with testing against cows. So I'd bet a .45 or a 10mm would work pretty well against the Utahs and smaller. maybe just torque off the bigger dinos though. There is a saying that speed kills, and handguns tend to not have the speed. The method of energy transfer falls to the mass of the round. It's why rifle bullets are smaller than pistol bullets, but penetrate more and do more damage. Little physics lesson. Energy transfer relates to momentum. Einstein's relativity equation works on this principle, E = mc^2, or Energy = Mass * Velocity_Squared. So the change in energy has the same relation. If you want to transfer more energy from an object to another object these are the variables at play. You can either increase mass or increase velocity. Lets follow with a design lesson tied in. Pistol cartridges are shorter than rifle cartridges by necessity. The casing has to be smaller because the space for them in the weapon is smaller. The casing holds the powder and is topped by the bullet. Smaller casing means less powder. The powder provides speed through rapid expansion as it ignites and vaporizes into a gas. Gases expand to fill their space and then exert pressure on the borders of that space as the amount of gas increases. So, less powder = less expansion = less speed. Pistols attempt to make up this difference by using larger bullets. If you can't increase speed, increase mass. Still doesn't tend to work as well by comparison, but a pistol is a compromise for space and weight. I got a bit carried away, but I love physics and shoot competitively so..... Anyway, saw you mentioned not knowing a lot about the lovemakers lol, and I hope this helped a bit!

Pulling The Rex from Official Servers is a Bad Move & it might make some Players Very Happy about, it will upset many that likes to be a Rex.. & They May loss some Playerbase over this Decisions, I get why they are doing it, But Its a Mistake in the Long run of it all.

Can we talk about how literally none of the Dino’s in the Evrima trailer from THREE YEARS AGO have been added aside from deinosuchus?? Literally why would parasaur, trike, and sucho be highlighted in the trailer if they aren’t even being worked on STILL it seems lol. Spino and Rex were also in that trailer but at least I get why they didn’t add them at the beginning.

This devblog is... weird. We got good stuff, like the Sucho art, but then we got the guns and the confirmation they started to work on Rex and Trike.... which is... dangerous. Not the gun part, that part you explained very well, but the introduction of Apexes. If they come after Diablo and Dilo, that would mean there's 16 dinosaurs in the game when apexes hit the game. And... thats very little dinosaurs to compete with 2 powerhouses that will come more broken than they were on Legacy, as they want to buff them instead of reworking. Its... gonna be a bumpy ridr for balance team

Organs seem to have gotten buffed in 6.5, they give a LOT of nutrient relative to size. Btw, this is what you get from the different organs. Heat = S Lungs = Dots Intestines = Lines Stomach = Dead dino's highest nutrient

2:30 assuming this rifle is firing .308 Winchester then I'd say it would be effective against deer sized game, or slightly larger, for immediate lethal effect. I'd be hesitant to use a .308 on a Utahraptor because the .308 simply doesn't have the power to incapacitate a horse sized animal like a Utahraptor unless you get a very lucky shot In big game hunting there are lots of cartridges that can kill an animal eventually, but not many that will STOP the animal with the first shot. I'm certain a .308 could kill a Utahraptor with a single well placed shot, but the raptor may still be able to track me down and kill me before it bleeds out. But if I shoot that same raptor with either a .450 Bushmaster or .338 magnum, I'm reasonably confident cartridges with that kind of muzzle energy will cause enough catastrophic organ damage to be immediately lethal with a well placed shot.

Honestly, I personally think that Tyrannosaurus Rex would kinda ruin the game on official servers. I mean, assuming that the T. Rex was released now with all of the other dinosaurs that were mentioned beforehand the creature would just be a killing machine. Imagine Deino but with the mobility of a Cerato, that's probably somewhat close. (Of course I know it depends on how it's stats are balanced but I mean, it's quite unlikely that they'll really make the rex less powerful than much else in the game).

That that little love maker can take down is going to depend entirely on the mechanics employed by the developer. In real life, elephants have been dropped with .22 LR. Which is just about the smallest round you can get. Thats because in real life you aim to shoot through the chest cavity, taking out the lungs and possibly the heart. If there isnt a mechanic like that, then its just going to be a rush to the highest DPS weapon system.

I am glad that humans are getting some love in the game i just hope that they don't make the guns too powerful to the point where they just one shot everthing because you could probably one shot a rex with an Ak 47 (Not Confirmed by Scientists.) in real life but this is a videogame and these dinosaur were brought back by humans and T-Rex is practically bullet proff in jurassic so it may be bullet resistant in this game.

Side note, Deino is the worst addition ever added.. Only because their playstyle is boring and there's like.. 50% no counterplay. A deino who's been sitting there will flat kill anything that isn't named Stego. Just because you need water. I don't dislike that they are strong af, I dislike that they basically kill most any mid tier no contest. Obviously it isn't op on land or OP at all really it's just an annoying part of being in the game and it not really having to fight anything.. Just grab it.. I like ambush but it's too strong an ambush in my opinion.. I don't see it being changed or feel it needs to be.. but it's very unwelcome in the playstyle. Might be better once there's bigger semi aquativs but yea.

As someone who does know a bit about guns (specifically rifles) I don’t think there is a need to be concerned about a gun designed after a bolt action when it comes to dinosaurs. The biggest thing I could see this gun taking down in one hit is a utah (or omni) just because animal skin, especially dinosaur skin, is really hard to pierce even with rifle rounds. This shot would also have to be a headshot to be Lethal, and I know people are gonna say “oh but all these gun game fans are going to have perfect accuracy!” To which I say, have you ever seen a COD player hit a headshot on an agile animal running 45km/ph and said animal wants to kill the human just as much if not more than the human does?

Based on the rifle, and ammo it appears to be a 30 caliber round. 30 caliber cartridges are far and away most commonly used for hunting virtually all species of big game around the world short of cape buffalo that can weigh roughly 2000 lbs.
