You are missing the point of this watch, the Willard has rich history and it is one of Seiko's iconic designs, it is a good diving watch with 200M, case finishing along with the bezel, dial, and hands are of good quality, even the braclet is acceptable. It's weakest point is its movement accuracy but for $1.3k what do you really expect to get? Especially when the watch can be bought at a good discount of 25% - 30% off

This Willard is crazy beautiful and I love the style of the bracelet it matches perfect. Love the standard version an is equally superb on his rubber stamp or a nato.it was my father's 6105 1970 watch that I borrowed when 10 now 55! Have all my memories love it

Not sure why you used the word “weird” in the title of the video. What exactly is weird about it? It’s a nice watch. Maybe it’s not for you or your friend in the background, but you don’t have to go pissing in someone else’s Cheerios because of that.

They are $1200 in the States. I question charging this amount with a 6R35 movement, which is essentially an upgraded longer reserve 4R35. Yes, it should be about $500. U.S. In general, Seiko is overcharging for their watches and under-delivering with their movements. Why do we have to pay $3k-$4k for a Seiko with a 8R movement? Seiko would still make a fair profit if they put their 8R movements into their $1k watches.

Austin... there is NOTHING captain Willard about that piece. It is NOT acknowledged by seiko as such and it is extremely different from the 6105 as a submariner is from an oyster Perpetual. The TRUE captain Willard is the SLA033. It is completely acknowledged and touted by seiko as the 6105 captain Willard tribute piece. It was made in the Grand Seiko facility and is a true hand finished tribute model in every facet and way. Don't perpetuate bad information that this 'shyter' is in any way a seiko tribute to the famed 6105. Hands are different, case is different, indices are different. And don't say 'upgrade' because it isn't an upgrade.

The Spb range is a modern re issue of the original Willard, even the Sla033 differs from the original Willard (case size and crystal). The original Willard was an inexpensive tool watch that the US troops used in Vietnam, the Sal033 is an expensive iteration which misses the point of the Willard !

Wow, insecure much? I have the SLA033 and admire the SPB series in their own way. Seiko gave both series some attributes from the 6105, but neither series is a 1:1 re-make. Both are re-imagined versions for different markets. If I had to choose, it would be the SPB which is the closest, as it's a tool watch for the average user, and it shares the equivalent price and crystal to the original. The SLA only shares the hands and indices, and even they aren't 1:1 - neither get the case shape correct. Regardless, no need to get all upset and angry over that's for sure!
