This whole series is top notch stuff! Great attention to detail, casting was superb. Incredibly well done! I've been struck by the relationships between the various characters and their servants. A complex story with a lot character development. Everyone is quite beautiful too. Amazing costumes, hair & make-up. I give it a 10 out of 10.

Poor Younghuang . his mind got poisoned by Jia and he went crazy at the end. All he wanted was a mother's love. Thinking about Ruyi and his biological mother at the end of it was so sad. I'm sure if he'd had the chance to right his wrong, he'd have been the most filial to Ruyi for the rest of his time. But unfortunately he didn't get that chance.

I try to imagine living in this environment. Life was so cheap in the Forbidden Ciity. Poor Yonghuang was a victim, and he was brokenhearted he treated Xian so badly. Jia is such an evil woman.

I am a fan of this drama, but in the end it's a work of fiction. Still it does some disservice to Qianlong who actually was a great emperor. Harem under first seven Qing emperors was the most orderly and enlighted of all imperial harems
