They were soulmates, in this world or the next, completely made for each other, two halves of one glorious whole. I cried after reading it and couldn't stop talking about it for days on end. Beautiful, just so beautiful. Loved this.

It would be so hard though, I mean find the right pacing to tell such an intricate story that takes place in so many years within not more than 3 hours ideally. A show might be the smarter way to go built similar to the avatar show (animated) with seasons as chapters of the book (on this case chapters of their lifes)

as much as we all want The Song of Achilles to become a movie, we would have incredibly high expectations. One wrong move could make or break the entire thing. So if there was a movie, it has to be done right

Im here looking at the trailer. But probably if there ever will be a movie i would not watch it, or await the reviews first. Cuz honestly if in comparison to the book the movie would be bad, it would ruin the whole special feeling i get now from reading it

I started reading this and was not expecting what it turned into. As a male i would not really want to read a love story (not that males cannot like love stories) but i am really enjoying this book so far. The connection between patroclus and achilles is deeper than sex it is like they are soul mates.

Just like Alexander & Hephaestion...the parralels are incredible. If Patroclus and Achilles would have existed they would have been this historical pair.

I cried 16 times in that book, esp because I had gone in after having read the Illiad. When he said, "Swear it," I crrriedddd. "What has Hector ever done to me?" ripped my heart out. So fucking powerful!! The straights™ were not reaaady. Also, if y'all haven't heard Achilles Come Down, do so immediately.

Yeah I know what you are talking about. Finished it last night. Read from their return to Phthya all the way to the end in one go. I don't really know how I feel about the ending. I feel like Phyrrus shouldn't have been introduced. I hated Briseis' death. And I feel like the ending was somehow hastily written (not the actual ending, like the last lines of the book, i quite liked those, but the whole part after Patroclus' death).

I know what you’re talking about!! I started it after school and stayed up till 2 to finish it. I cried when I knew Patroclus was going to die (I tried to convince myself he wasn’t lol) and then from that point to the end was so sad but so beautifully written that I kept crying. That really goes to show how powerful it was because I have a really hard time crying and even if a MOVIE makes me tear up, I’m pretty amazed. I’m not trying to seem cool by saying I don’t cry, I’m just trying to use it to reiterate my point. So yeah I agree 100% with you!!

When I first started reading this book, I never thought it would make me curl into a ball and just cry. Achilles loved Patroclus no matter who said otherwise. I just couldn't stop crying when Patroclus died and Achilles just couldn't believe he was gone. I always loved how patroclus described Achilles so beautifully. It was very pure and touching. I couldn't stop thinking about it for days. One must be very lucky to have what they both had. All they needed was eachother. This book will always have a special place in my heart❤

i finished the book yesterday in math class while the other students were doing map testing and i was crying than i cried at lunch and then i cried in my consumer science class then i went back to the library to return the book and got different books and cried again after dinner for about 1 hour and 30 minutes and then i cried in the shower and then i decided to listen to the audio book and then fell asleep while listening to it.

i finished this book last night. safe to say i have NEVER cried so hard over a book. when i first decided to read it, i was expecting just plain Greek mythology and nothing to do with romance. But I was incredibly surprised to see the strong connection the protagonists had. The progression in their love and genuinely how this book progressed was BEAUTIFULLY written. Although, a movie on it would sound unbelievable, and I doubt a movie could express how the book truly is, as that's always how it's been when it comes to books being converted into movies, but I would definitely watch it just to see how they've put it. The Song Of Achilles is the first book i've truly cried over and related to. I can see myself rereading this book multiple times and still crying over it. Miller really set the time period and gave a clear story on the lives of Patroclus and Achilles.
