I heard this in Fruits Basket a year or so ago and it left an impression on me, came across it again in Blue Period so I finally found it! Graduated three years ago, but I still get so nostalgic about it They weren’t easy days, but a lot simpler and there’s a lot of people and things I miss. Trying to enjoy today though. Never know how precious something is until it’s gone so, maybe today is just as precious as well :’)

That’s the point. The Japanese love exploiting emotion. Live through 17 years of sitting through this and sending your fellow teachers off to their next school in literally the same way kamikaze pilots were sent off and you’ll start counting the minutes in your head, how many minutes of speeches you’ll have to sit seiza staring at your sushi warming till you can drink!!!! If you need further explanation, I’ll lay the math out for you.

Because Corona, i sacrified a year and two months, started when i was 1st year (when i write this i'm in 2nd year) Hearing this kind of song make me shivering, thinking that i almost be a 3rd year of high school student, and i literally didn't make any memorable thing yet. Thinking about me in future, can be sad or depressed remembering i don't have good memory at high school. Just hoping that i can go to school again as soon as possible

There are many different parts between Japanese and English. But I know why, because they have distinguished ways to express things. I speak well of him, the translator. He worked hard anyway. Still you must know what it says originally in Japanese when you learn Japanese and it's written by a bit old Japanese. There are so many words which we don't use longer. :)

Recently I was reading about this and read that some years ago a japanese academic found a 19th century US school song book with a music sheet in which this song probably was based. If that's true it's still unknow how it reached Japan. You can hear it in the Wiki.
@DaughterOfDreamMaker4 жыл бұрын
Ao Haru Ride... But wow the lyrics make graduation seem that much sadder. I'll just think 'wait until we meet in the future' because not everything ends. In fact, you can meet again if you keep in touch and try your best. Positive hopes!

This song was born in America(So I wonder why it isn't well-known in the U.S. despite its beautiful melody and lyrics...) and the Japanese have translated the lyrics into Japanese. Likewise many Japanese people, I sang this song in the graduation ceremony of my elementary school. Complex feelings I had when I graduated are perfectly reflected on the lyrics and the melody of the song expresses the sadness and loneliness of graduation. I love the song.

About this song-Aogeba tōtoshi. In January 2011, Hitotsubashi University professor emeritus Masato Sakurai announced that he believed he had found the origins of the song in an English school music book published in the United States in 1871.

Most of these people came to this video because they heard it in a anime like Sakurasou, Angel Beats, Kakegurui, Assassination Classroom, Watamote, Azumanga, and Zatch Bell which I had no idea existed. Heard and watched the others but not Zatch Bell. So basically any anime that has a graduation episode makes people go to this video. Nice to know, just got here because of Kiniro Mosaic
