When I became a Seabee Chief, our class needed a resource to learn all three verses. Very proud of my son-in-law James for creating this. Shortly thereafter James became a commissioned Naval officer. Great story!

Sheldon Churchill Wright was my Father in Law. Citadel trained. Great man. Grew the best Swiss Chard in his massive vegetable gardens. Spoke with is New England accent and never lost it. Raised 3 children. Dedicated family man and soul mate to his wife Jan. Helped me out whenever he could, even before I was in his family. Woke him up once when my car broke down after 2 am and he came out to help. Years later I became family. Was my board patient when I took my Dental Hygiene exam in 2000, which was a dedicated and pain in the butt thing to do for me. Loved him. Miss him always. Never heard this song till today. He never spoke of it much. Lost hearing in one ear was all I ever knew about his time in Korea. Thank you for posting this. Not even sure how it came up, but glad it did as it reminds me of a better time with people I loved who are now mainly gone. So thank you.

No no no. Any Chief Select here to learn the Seabee song better not try this version. The second verse is spoken word. "Brother, we're in IT to win" and "We'll uphold our proud tradition" in place of "with our past...". Of course, the third verse is not official so versions vary but I've never heard a Seabee sing this one.

Well I'm a former Seabee officer (Civil Engineer Corps) and I have to say, this song pretty much sucks. Sorry, but it won't inspire young people to join the Seabees, so maybe someone can write a better one.

I was a black shoe sailor . I had served four years sea duty on a destroyer before being posted to Yokosuka Japan as an MP . While in Yokosuka I made friends with two SEABEES and partied with them many times . They played a SEABEE song that was very different to this tune . Their song contained the lyrics " I can drink like a fish and work like a bee , so why are you trying to fuck with me ? Cause I'm a SEABEE in the Navy " . Edit . Check out the song " I"m a squared away sailor " sometime .
