It's standard tuning. Jimmy used a 12 strings neck on this song and he used a 6 strings neck tuned EADADE on The Rain Song.

the thomann dc-custom 612 is 600 CAD and is a double neck. effectively a gibson double neck for a 10th of the price.

Hunterend07 the acoustics from what I know are a bit harder to finger pick than the electrics. I own a Martin 12 string and it is very hefty, but I have also played a danelectro 12 and the strings were smaller and closer together

For all those skeptics who think Zep is nothing more than a glorified cover band because they didn’t credit a few songs properly, send them here. Have them listen to HotH, Zep III and IV and physical Graffiti. This is what makes Zep the best rock band there ever was. Jimmy Page’s compositions are other worldly. NO ONE plays and composed like him. NO ONE!

I'm currently a 31 year die hard Zep fan (started listening to them at age 14 after thumbing through my dads albums. He had 1,2 & PG). I don't know how or why but in the past few months "The Song Remains the Same" has become my favorite LZ song. Thats part of the beauty of LZ is that no matter how long one listens to them there always seems to be one little thing you might have missed. Just one little note or crash of the cymbal that keeps the flame alive. We are all fortunate to have expierenced this band in our lifetimes. Something this special and unique is probably a once in a millennium thing. PS outstanding cover of TSRTS!! It's cool to watch the three instruments simultaneously.

THIS is how a guitar demo/lesson video should look and sound! Playing is spot-the-fuck on (seriously, note for goddamn note - and for those of you unaware: this is NOT an easy version of this song), tone is extremely close to Page 1973, good camera angle, good lighting, NO TALKING or stupid wannabe pithy commentary, no repetition… going over one riff or passage seventeen times… and most importantly (for me, anyway) it has solved a couple lick questions I’ve had for awhile, and has even served as a backing track!
