What I find most interesting about this is that technically this could have been done a thousand years ago but it wasn't. Makes you wonder what new genres of sound are sitting right in front of our collective noses but will have to wait another 1000 years before they are manifested.

I am currently struggling to find words, writing this much has so far taken over 30 sec. but I have to push through the communication difficulties because I have to voice how amazing this was. The first thing i did when the episode was finished was to find this video so I could hear the song again. and now I'm probably going to sit here way too long, just listening to it over and over again. Guys, you really nailed it, and I'm so sad that I can't hear it on repeat endlessly, till next weeks episode (at the very least).

Absolutely brilliant! Wuthering Heights is my all time favourite song and, despite being mildly offended on behalf of Kate for your initial derision, I loved it. You did an incredible job. When Gareth gave you the song I have to say I thought "No way! 5 guys singing Wuthering Heights! You have to be kidding!" But it was so, so clever. I must have watched it 6 or 7 times since the episode aired and each time it brings tears to my eyes. Beautiful solo, Jo.
@SpankinHands4 жыл бұрын
Sure wish full episodes of THE NAKED CHOIR were posted. The episode in which this performance appears involved "challenge" songs that went against the competing groups' prevalent styles. Sons Of Pitches were skilled crowd-pleasers, reinventing hot-and-now pop tunes. They did not like Wuthering Heights when they first heard Kate Bush's rendition. They persevered, produced this, and went on to win the competition.

I've listened to this so many times. It still has the same impact - goosebumps, teary eyes and a feeling of massive respect at what the boys managed to achieve with a song which was written in a completely different context. I watched it 5 times on repeat, and have just come back to see your performance again - truly haunting, eerie, and genuinely gave me goosebumps. I already liked the original track but you have completely improved it for me! You're all amazing, but a special shout to your beatboxer (sorry don't know all your names) who just added an amazing bass line and made it sound so now. Absolutely LOVED the minimalist choreography, you definitely told the whole story for me! Good luck for the final...

Thanks Sandy! I think we all grew to love the song (apart from Midé) and the interpretation that we took of it. The biggest thing for us is that we wanted to focus on the story and the lyrics and it seems people have seen that in our performances which is great!
