I’ve had the a7RV for close to a year. IMO, I feel the batter performance is about as good as some as my previous cameras (a7iii and a7riii). That said, I shoot both the FX3 and a7RV and carry extra batteries anyway. As for importing luts, it as is a really nice feature, but I don’t find it a problem using Gamma display assist. About low light, the a7RV was never made as a low light camera. It’s a photography priority camera meant for high resolution at the expense of low light. That being said, I personally don’t find the low light performance bad at all. It’s not a 12,800 performer like the FX3 or zv-E1 though with 12 mp sensors.

Interesting. I definitely notice that it eats faster than my A7Riii. Maybe it’s the format in which I’m shooting video. Regardless, it sounds like you have a dream setup! Pinning your comment for a different perspective.

Thanks for the rundown. I definitely think it is going to help me choose my primary camera and in my case I am leaning towards the A7R5, thanks for your short and sweet explanation. I would consider on upgrading to a better video camera in the future but for the time being, I guess the A7R5 would best fit me as a Hybrid Camera. Speaking as a Nikon User.

Were the video shots filmed in the pixel binned 4K FF, 8K or aps-c mode?

Very similar situation for me. FX3 is my A cam for all my video work, and I shoot a lot of photography for my day job. I have an original A9 but I wanted something I could use as a true B-cam for my interviews, as well as a great hybrid. Just purchased a used A7RV today and I’m looking forward to having it in hand.

So what are your thoughts about it. Is there any better option than FX3 ? What about a new camera A7CII ?
@daltonbrowne79804 ай бұрын
@@IRFAN-po5sz for the money, the FX3 is the best option in Sony for a pure video camera.

Thanks for the vid and info. Im still shooting w my A7RIII - But am turning more into a hybrid shooter as well. Can't really afford the FX3 + A7R5 at the same time so Im wondering if you'd simply get the FX3 for video only along with my A7R3 or upgrade to the R5 as a hybrid or are the video shortcomings too much on the R5?
@Chollette6 ай бұрын
Tricky question! Here are my thoughts. My biggest problem with the RV is its lowlight performance. I see a lot of noise in scenarios where I’d get a clean image on the FX3. But that’s simply because the FX3 is so good in low light that I’m just spoiled now. I also wish I could import LUTS but I know it’s a photo camera first. But could I make it work if I just owned the RV? Absolutely. I’d just plan for more lighting and use an external monitor for pro video. The FX3 + the A7R3 is a great setup that I still could have been using to this day. I do feel a lot more flexible with the screen of the RV after upgrading and knowing I have so much to work with in one body. I’d just really think about what you’re shooting more when it comes to photo or video and what setup gets you most of the way there.

try topaz video i shoot a7rv at 12500 all the time next to a7siii and even 25000 a few times topaz video cleans up the noise but i haven't noticed color shifts on Rv when using high iso like i do on a7riii or r4 but topaz video is magical and they will do free or deep discounts to establish KZbinrs so i have heard
