Welcome to the soothing touch self-compassion meditation. This is a wonderful meditation for you to get used to soothing yourself as a practitioner, as well as a tool that you can use on your clients. These meditations can be used in-between sessions to help calm and relax your mind.
If you are a therapist, try these eight meditations in this playlist-created by a psychologist for other therapists-to practice self-care and prevent or reduce burnout by SimplePractice. Featuring Elisha Goldstein, PhD.
In part due to the high demands of their jobs, many therapists these days are dealing with burnout and compassion fatigue. According to SimplePractice’s 2023 Therapist Burnout Survey results Well-Being Report, 52% of practitioners reported that they have experienced burnout in the past year.
In celebration of World Mental Health Day, and in response to these survey results, SimplePractice created a campaign with free resources to support clinicians with burnout highlighting:
-The free “Clinician Mental Health Collection” - 3 courses, 3.5 hours of CE.
***Courses included are: ACT for Clinician Self-Care; Beyond Self-Care: Tending to the Wounded Healer; and a non-CE Course Drop Self-Care is Not Enough: Creating a Self-Compassion Practice.

-An in-depth independent survey focusing on practitioner burnout.
