GPT3 is a natural language model, not an attempt at AGI, but it is very interesting and imo worth an episode. the most interesting thing about it to me is that it (seems to have) learned to do basic maths

23:00 talks about AI generating speeches...we volunteer with a nonprofit that just bought some content generating software for newsletters and marketing etc. The flow of it is so seemless it's freaky. It feels like a human's writing. It picked up on lingo specific to our nonprofit in one try and uses it intelligently. Really freaky stuff.

David Hanson and his team have often taken great pains to describe and specify exactly what the full range capabilities and limitations of the first generation of Hanson robot's are. Perhaps Mr Hanson has been a bit sentimental as any proud " Father" would over his emergent creations bordering on a hint anthropomorphize Sophia a bit occasionally, But he did comprehensively explain and clarify this in a more clinically objective follow up statenent. "The proof is in the pudding" regarding the practical utility and versatility of the robot's in our actual medical care facilities , Living and workplaces. We're about to find out ! Sophia 2020 and Grace the human looking nursing assistant are now available for sale order in limited test market areas, to be followed by mass production upgraded model's by the end of next year. They are only an early precursor of what they could become with time, patience and kindness

I can't mimic other people's emotions via my facial expressions. Way to rub it in guys by saying "it's easy". Now even robots can do this, as well as recognising who someone is from their face (another thing that I can't do).
