@@KristabelReacts The rest of season one was filmed later, only after this pilot episode was turned down several times and then picked up by HBO. In case you notice the youngsters look a bit older. When it became a hit, the following two seasons really picked up the pace and were so much better.

Glad to see another KZbinr reacting to the greatest show ever. I will say that in season 1, the show is still trying to find its identity, so it is a bit all over the place compared to future seasons. Season 2 is where the show finally knows what it wants to be and hits its stride, and then it just takes off from there and only gets better with each new season. Excited for the future reactions!

I grew up watching this show, & at the age of 9, I knew I loved it! Ever since the first episode, specifically the scene where he runs the guy over and his bone is popping out. I've watched the show now over a hundred times. I remember trying to reference this show at my grandpas one time when I was idk like 10 or something, and I said "so what? No fucking ziti now?" ...it did not go well 🙃 I'm so excited to take this ride with you! Also yes, the man who plays Tony, James Gandolfini, passed away, that one hurt. And the one who plays Paulie, Tony Sirico, recently died, which definitely took a toll on me again.

Drea de Matteo (Wendy in SOA) does play Adriana in The Soprano. It's a bit unfortunate that you notice her, though, because her character goes from random hostess in episode 1 to Christopher girlfriend in episode 2. The pilot was shot a few months before the second episode, In my opinion the first season is certainly the weakest.
