The reason this is such a good episode is because this episode gave birth to the trope of modern TV antiheroes. Tony killing that rat in cold blood was something new for TV when this episode came out in '99. HBO was against it thinking the audience would hate it. They eventually agreed so long as Febby was shown smuggling drugs, which David Chase agreed to. The audience liked the episode anyway and it ended up being a fan favorite and paving the way for other antiheroes like Walter White, Dexter Morgan, etc.

Yuuuhh that makes sense for sure 🙏 and I'm glad that I didn't know any of that when I was watching it cause I felt real nervous when he was pointing that gun at them and I didn't know what was ganna happen 😮‍💨
