He had Jimmy Altieri whacked, and he hoped that was the end of it, but Tony deep down knew exactly why Puss vanished without a word for months. He just didn't want to believe it, until it was completely unavoidable. The same thing happened when Tony dreamed about Tony B later in the series. His dreams are his subconscious screaming at him about problems he is avoiding in his life.
