Я буквально только что притронулся к этому сериалу (давно откладывал после просмотра Во все тяжкие) и посмотрел на данный момент три сезона. Я после того, как впервые увидел в опенинге сцену с башнями близнецами, внимательно стал следить за опенингом каждой серии, особенно каждого нового сезона. Так и думал, что это уберут. Думал уберут в третьем сезоне, потому что как я и предполагал, он вышел в 2001, следуя из простой логики, что первый сезон вышел в 99 и что обычно в сериалах новые сезоны выходят минимум спустя год, но нужно ещё их снять и съемки могут проходить на год раньше или как минимум на несколько месяцев раньше, поэтому эту сцену убрали только в 4 сезоне... Грустно все это, особенно осознавая с первой серии первого сезона, что эту сцену в будущем удалят по этическим соображениям... Но ещё грустнее, что с огромной вероятностью продолжение этого телешоу ждали в том числе упокоившиеся жертвы 9/11...

After reading the comments i see why they changed it. I drove there from pgh 3 or 4 mo after it happened. I walked all the way around ground zero. They didnt have the spot lights up yet. Every street was ply wood off with cop in his car and all the pics of ppl and flowers and stuffed toys. Damn man i forgot what a horrible time it was , im feeling it now.

I’m from Pgh too. 7 of us piled in a mini van in November 2001 and made the drive when they were encouraging everyone to come to NY. Walked around the entire area. At that time all of the missing posters and flowers and memorials were still up around Battery Park. Very emotional. Still is reflecting back on it.

It was about viewership. Simply put, having the towers only months after the attack would only remind people of the disaster and people would associate it to sopranos. Also they mention 9/11 in sopranos so it would clearly be gone post season 3

It was a crazy time, most people didn’t know how to process it. I don’t think the show did anything disrespectful. I think it would be worse to keep the shot after 9/11, as that would be like pretending nothing happened. The show changed with the times, 9/11 was a theme throughout season 3-4 onwards
