I really love how the intro makes it seem like Tony is going into work on an early morning but it’s really about Tony coming home after doing God knows what all night

Never thought of it that way. I always thought of it on how the creators were going to show us something new and wanted to pound home the fact that this will not take place in NYC like other classic crime epics. This is going to be in NJ all the way.

@@thebookwasbetter3650 I think it was done more for this reason, because they wanted to show the audience where everything is in relation to each other. I like how they set the tone of the setting. The first we see is Tony is driving along a nice view of Manhattan and all of its eye-catching glory, making you think that maybe he's one of the stronger wiseguys of the big apple, a king of the Five Families. That's all rubbed out when Tony drives right into New Jersey and you get a good look at the rundown sky blotting factories and aging washed out streets of Newark. Upon reaching his mansion on the hill, you realize that Tony's not a king of New York, but rather a king of a much dirtier land; telling us perfectly well who he is and where he comes from.

The Sopranos and The Wire just gave those feelings that you naturally live with the characters while watching. No overreacted drama, jokes and humor just gets you like your daily life, but the gripping reality that you'll feel in these shows, like this is likely to happen jeez man, Breaking Bad is good but it's just nothing like this. No myth of a man, just men struggling off of daily lives doing their job, no brain twisting wrecks just how every individuals fight reality. These are the kinds of shows Netflix could never match against HBO. Almost everything from HBO is top notch and would pretty much separate your taste from Netflix's teeny drama vibes.

@@ididntmeantoshootthatvietn5012 i think hes trying to say that even tho Breaking Bad is often mentioned amongst the best tv shows ever (its actually the best reviewed by critics) it feels more like an over dramatic-action packed story, and it doesnt touch that sense of realism of Sopranos/The Wire that resonate so much with the viewers
