@@nordette I understand that kind of rationale, but I cannot see Bobby stooping to that. Ralphie? Sure. Bobby? Nah. He's got too much integrity for that imo. Bobby was never that bright, though (e.g., Nostradamus; notradame). Thus, I think it's more likely that Bobby was duped and genuinely didn't realize how bad a person Janice was. Afterall, Jancie apparently has quite a bit of experience in being underhanded and manipulative.

I remember watching this episode and I felt a sickness in my stomach. While most seasons will end with someone being killed, what dies in this season finale is the love between Carmela and Tony. my favorite aspect of the sopranos is just how human it is. the fight between carmela and tony is so realistic and well done, you can really sense that carmela is overwhelmed with anxiety and anger and sadness. i've had fights with a few significant others in my life and like many people i have been in situations where that anxious pit is so deep and the mind is just in a constant state of chaotic thought. just an incredible episode and astounding series overall, can't wait to watch it again at some point

Johnny realized playing by the rules is not getting him anywhere. This is when johnny decided to go for the throne in season 5. In his opinion everybodys been short changing him despite the fact that he's always there. He's a great example of no more mr. Nice guy. One of the things I really love about this show is the level of commitment that the actors have for each of their own characters. Edie Falco's portrayal of Carmela is up there for me. I didn't notice it at first because her character doesn't like making a racket. But Edie does it with such sprezzatura that it's a perfect foil to Tony's character or to Meadow/AJ or to Livia/Janice or to any other character Carm is in proximity to or up against. If it was any other actress, they would probably overdo Carmela and you would notice it. Edie played Carmela right. And I love how when Edie as Carmela looks at Tony, she sees an undeniable side of herself that she loathes. It's not Tony she's raging at really, it's herself, and she knows it. The way she insults and intentionally hurts Tony, that's nothing compared to what she's done to end up where she is.

This episode is especially poignant and relatable in context to us Jersey girls. That longing for the house at the shore, especially in that area; the dream of a gathering place for generations of family yet to come -- as likely to turn into a war as any disputed international border -- but that pull to be at the Jersey shore is so strong.

Tell me you'll stop your soprano final season episode abruptly with a black screen. Then I can yell at youtube just like I screamed at my cable box first time 'round. That aside, you've created a fantastic and inventive thing here that really reignited and refreshed my appreciation for this amazing show, and James Gandolfini in particular. As an Italian American living in the not Chicago midwest this show was like watching a significantly less murderous version of the family reunion that was once a summer staple but has long ceased to be as so many of them were old and are just gone now, taking a lot of that cultural identity with them to their place of final reward! Many of them spoke English as a second language with Italian as their first, full of passion and stories, sharp wit and mind right to the abrupt end. So thank you for this series and I look forward to your future videos!

You know i got to say, I kind of see Tony Sopranos life from Season 1 to Season 6 A/B; as something you can compare to the Roman Empire. Jackie Aprille and other bosses like DiMeo were sort of like Augustus; everyone loved him. He was fair to everyone, gave everyone an opportunity to be better and thrive ahead. Like Tony said, he shared his wealth and never ate alone, Meaning he gave everyone what they want so they can be happy, but at the same time ate with them; meaning close friends so that no one is angry in secret. But Tony Soprano on the other hand is their version of Julius Caesar. Everyone loved Tony for sure; however little by little everyone is starting to realize that maybe Julius isn't as a fair and strong leader then they thought he was. And this is True, because Tony became more miserable as the years went on, he got divorced and a dysfunctional family; barely managed to win them back, he was also making bad decisions, and to top of all that he lost basically 95% of his main crew. If you ask me, he should've had Uncle Jr stayed as the official boss or had someone else Tony likes to be boss. He may've hatd it yes, but at least he wouldn't be in the position then he is from season 6.

Good review, I would disagree about the post-trial scene though. I don't see it so much as him worried about Bobby as much as facing the fact that while he "won" he is still irrelevant. Note how he doesn't want a party and is strict about just two pizzas being ordered and none of his old-time friends being invited over. You'd think you'd be happy after escaping spending the rest of your life in jail...but like Bobby's the only one left he can boss around and so he does that, because he's such a miserable awful person who just can't be happy and now realizes he has nobody left to control.

I don't think Johnny lowering his eyes was a signal. Tony kept gambling because he didn't want Carmine to become suspicious. Plus Tony wasn't sure he was going to wreck Carmine anyway... Which he didn't in the end... So he was right by negotiating with Carmine as if nothing was going on.

Johnny may have lowered his eyes to signal to Tony to go lower but was hoping Carmine would reject the counteroffer and keep the stalemate going.

I have been binging on the Sopranos for the last 2 weeks... I have a bad case of adult ADHD and your sopranologs have helped me stay in with some of the details of the show that I miss due to my attention deficit... I actually watch your video to suplement the episode that I just watched because I always miss something... thank you for helping a brother out!!

Dude, I've watched your entire series so far, and that's because I'm a complete sopranos junkie. But I gotta say. You're just recapping the episodes. No review, no analysis, no nothing. Ok maybe that's an exaggeration...you have a couple thoughts but really you're just banking on people like me who will watch anything sopranos related. You should seriously consider spending more time on these videos. You seem capable enough.

Another funny detail that I just barely noticed after watching the series so many times over is in one of the episodes you mentioned here; ", Watching Too Much Television". There's the scene towards the end of the episode where Zellman and his PIC/the Minister's son tony used to deal with go into Tony's office at The Bing to collect their piece of the HUD scam and while leaving The Bing the two talk about where they started (wanting to make a difference/start a revolution) to where they are now dealing dirty and after some talk Zellman ends the Convo with "sometimes I feel like I should be punished" while tapping his coat where he hid the dirty money he got from Tony, and later on at the end of the episode Tony busts into Zellman's bedroom and whips the shit outta him with a belt like a dog so bad that he makes Zellman cry and ultimately kills Zellman's manhood which causes him to loose probably the hottest chick he'd ever been with and ever will be with while also dealing with impotence. Idk, to me that sounds like a pretty thorough, vengeful punishment haha

This is where you can see Meadow growing her compassion - she the HERO OF THE SERIES - There are no videos about her. Yet she is the one who survives. She survives alone because she was the one who changed. And change was offered to all of them, but they chose not to.

There’s an episode in the 6th season where Tony is talking to AJ in family therapy and he’s says “you’re a mamas boy”, a description that I think Melfi gave to Tony early in the show, but AJ gets mad and Tony says “oh poor you” again like the self unaware asshole he is

I agree with Kino that this was the best episode of the series. Just spectacular acting by both James Gandolfini and Edie Falco. For anyone who has gotten divorced and/or had major marital arguments, this episode rang true. Kino hits it out of the ballpark once again with the attention to detail on Kayisha (sic?) references.

Hello Kino, your episodes are amazing! I don’t know if you might have covered this on your channel but can you please do an episode on how Hesh’s wife mysteriously dies? Weird thought I felt that she might have been suffocated. It was also an episode where Tony was paying back Hesh his 200K he borrowed from his gambling problem…
