Ironic that Tony B. made such dumb decisions but yet had a very high IQ....He wasn't meant to be a gangster. Had he put his energy into legitimate enterprise, he would have been a high level executive in Wall Street or something. Sad that he was just doing the family business albeit not wisely.

Phil renounced the old school ways when the Doc guy started overstepping. The 'old school way', to him, was to be part of a pyramid scheme. Unfortunately, he replaced his modus operandi with, essentially, chaos. There was no rhyme or reason to his leadership decisions, he just went with what his emotions told him, the same emotions that told him to whack Doc and take the seat.
@KingKhanate1997
@KingKhanate1997 3 жыл бұрын
Ironic, since Phil was about as extreme as old school can get. He was obsessed with vengeance over whatever perceived slights he suffered, imagined or not. Way too concerned about his own ego and his “honor” to the point where business suffered. It’s no wonder his own crew offered him up to be whacked.

Butchie didn't okay anything. Little Carmine is clearly the one with all the power considering that Butchie brought him to the meeting in the first place plus he looks at Carmine twice before making a decision. Little Carmine also has the majority vote from all NY capos ever since Johnny Sack became a mad-king that murdered a female associate, and Angelo Garape, a made-man and formal consigliere to establish dominance. There has never been a New York War since the "Colombo-thing." It's Little Carmine that okays the hit on Tony as revenge for Rusty Millio. Either Patsy or Paulie flipped on Tony.
@AvenueD417
@AvenueD417 5 жыл бұрын
AlbrechtDurer I agree with the Pauly flipping on Tony theory. Both tony and Phil were bad for business, they took things too personal. Tony guys hated Phil, Phil’s guys hated Tony. With one guy out of the way, the resentment from the fallen guys side remains. With Tony out of the picture then business can restart fresh. They would just need the approval of Tony’s newly crowned under boss, Pauly. Who feared for his life on the boat with Tony...

Tony says about a place he went to. Never told nobody about it. Deep and meaningful. Yet when Paulie tells Tony about seeing the Virgin Mary at the Bing, Tony laughs it off, as Paulie said. Tony is a hypocrite. I’d vote Phil as the best boss in any series ever. My son’s first and middle names are Francis Vincent. Not a coincidence.

I know what you mean. I to, was so moved by a tv show, that I named my sons Gilligan and MaryAnn. Not a coincidence. If I had a girl, I would of named her, The Skipper. Hold on, I got a call on my shinebox. Gotta go.
