Bobby Bacala has a rough time in the short length of the series. Junior treats him like a slave, Tony kicks him around for a few years, his father dies, he loses his wife in a car accident, gets jumped by muggers, marries the awful Janice, gets in a brawl with the boss, kills his first "hit", has a child hurt on a carnival ride, and is finally murdered.

Bronx Cortez that plus it’s very cultural, you have to go to the church service when people die. Mexicans do it, Italians do it any majorly catholic culture does this.

Exactly. From what I understand, Tony changed as the years went by. She was probably disgruntled, but this probably evolved throughout the series. The last episode was their reconciliation.

Fascinating story about Bobby Bacala Sr. The actor playing him, in real life the actor was so fascinated by the mob life that he actually attempted to be 'made' but was turned away.

Whyda Longface Al D'Arco, onetime acting boss of the Luchesse crime family, said in his biography that Burt Young contacted Vic Amuso (the official boss of the family) to become a honorary member of the Luchesses. Amuso refused, and told Young to "stick to his acting job."
@LLOOYYYDD9 жыл бұрын
Billy Marino that's bullshit. Al D'Arco never said that in his memoirs. Where did you get that from??
@billymarino44529 жыл бұрын
Whyda Longface page 372, I'm reading it now so I can quote it for you (not that I have anything to prove....) "Burt Young, famous for his role in Rocky, was so starstruck by his mobster pals that he asked Vic Amuso if he could become a made member. Stick to your acting job, Amuso told him." There you go. Don't know if D'Arco is making that up, but I didn't.

feech and bobbys' dad were the two coolest guys on the show. their stints on the show were the best part of the Soprano series. shame that chase could not work them a tad more.

I think he didn't want the series to be enjoyable. I think he wanted the viewers to feel disgusted of everyone somehow.
